Chamber Program Makes an Impact Responding to Member Needs and Feedback - We Need You!
Starting this month, the Chamber’s Big Bank Theory program will reach high school seniors with a hands-on activity designed to grow their financial literacy skills. We will visit all seven public high schools as well as Team Success charter school. This annual program is a priority for our Education & Workforce Partnership Committee.
We need hundreds of volunteers to help the students with the activity. It is fun, rewarding, and easy (we promise!) The Big Bank Theory was developed more than 10 years ago by the Chamber as a direct result of member feedback that stressed the need for more financial literacy skills in the workforce. Check out page 8 for more information and consider signing up ASAP.
Chamber member volunteers staff booths that walk students through decisions related to securing housing, transportation, insurance, clothing, groceries, and more - all while attempting to stay within their assigned monthly budget. It's like "The Game of Life", but recreated in the school gym and the monthly budgets the students are assigned are aligned with Florida job and wage data.
