Matt Pearce, a Scotsman living in London, produced the album featuring himself as lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. He added top London blues scene talent and produced an album which has been described as one of the best albums of 2022. The Soul Food Store, released in April, is their second album, and has reached the number one position in the Blues charts with the debut released in 2019, GOTTA GET HOME, reaching number one in the Amazon charts. There are stunning guitar works, riffs and melodic solos, strong sax, soulful and expressive vocals from smooth and mellow to upbeat and blues infused. With the beautifully constructed arrangements, the result is an album full of foot stomping, finger snapping and rhythmic bliss … its rocky, its bluesy, dreamy …funky and groovy! Matt describes the approach to the album as ‘pick n mix’, with the aim to keep the listeners interested and wanting more. By adding little tricks to the songs like horns, bongos, shakers, and small harmonies coming in unexpectedly, hence adding spice to the songs and ‘‘became the glue to making the songs complete.’’ This musician proves himself as a musical magician demonstrating his ability as a singer, songwriter, master of guitar, producer, and a soul feeder.
