We encourage ourselves to score as high as possible for the sustainability certification by MPS, for which we are periodically tested. This keeps us permanently alert to doing our very best and gaining the highest score for sustainability. Together we are working towards a sustainable world, in which people, planet and profit are balanced.

SV.CO is good for people and planet

We use and recirculate 100% of the rainwater that falls on our greenhouses. This leads to annual savings equivalent to the tap water consumption of 5.095 households.

We increasingly offer sustainable alternatives to our plastic sleeves. Examples are our well-known SV.Box and more and more paper sleeves.

We are constantly reducing the peat content in potting soil. Meanwhile, 50% consists of clay, perlite and coconut. We only use R.P.P. certified peat which is 100% responsibly extracted.

Making the world more sustainable

In the handling areas we generate 197 MWh of energy annually using solar panels. This is equivalent to providing at least 54 (3 person) households with energy annually.

Our pot chrysanthemums are among the top 10 air-purifying houseplants. This has been scientifically examined by NASA. Chrysanthemums not only brighten up any room, they also filter the air and add oxygen!

8 weeks of flowering Would you like to enjoy your Chrysanthemums longer? Then you should remove flowers as they fade. In this way, new flowers can get more sunlight and the plant can flower up to eight weeks!

Sander Verbeek takes over his father’s business and continues alone.

2015 SV.CO grows pot Chrysanthemums for 50 years.

2016 SV.CO celebrates its 10year anniversary

2018 Vreugdenberg and SV.CO merge, Aad Vreugdenhil joins the board of directors.

2019 Arie Strijbis and Aad Vreugdenhil step down from the Management Board 2018 SV.CO builds an energy efficient greenhouse and processing area of 4 hectares next to the greenhouse of Vreugdenberg at Zijtwende in De Lier.

The current board of management consists of Sander Verbeek, Jelle Strijbis and Martijn Vreugdenhil.
