2014 FALL RECAP
Senior Malia McGuinness MAAC Volleyball Player Of The Year
From the Desk of Noah D. LeFevre Dear Friends It was a tremendous first semester for me as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Manhattan College. It is difficult to express in words how excited I am to come to Riverdale every day and continue to work on developing our many athletic programs. The dedication of all of our student-athletes to be successful both academically and athletically is the centerpiece of all of the decisions we make as an athletic department. We continue to strive to attract the some of the best athletes in the country. We have implemented a multiyear scholarship plan that will enable us to better our competitive positioning through increased athletic aid to talented would-be Manhattan College student-athletes. Increasing the number of scholarship opportunities will enable our programs to build depth and attract greater talent. We are currently working on many different facility projects. It is important to continue to develop our ancillary spaces, especially locker rooms and team meeting rooms. We are in the final planning stages of he construction of a broadcast studio which will enable us to have a better video presence on the web. We have made a great deal of progress over the past couple years in the facility area, but we certainly want to continue to build on the momentum of recent history and further the progress made on our various complexes. Most remarkably this past Fall was our overall student-athlete grade point average of 3.16. Our studentathletes continue to impress in the classroom and are working hard to ensure they have a full menu of options for themselves once they graduate. I strongly encourage you to join the Jasper Club if you have not already done so. The support our friends lend to the Club make a lasting impact on the development of all our athletic programs and greatly enhance the student-athlete experience. I hope that everybody has a healthy and successful 2015. Go Jaspers!!!
