“Science” CLASS-6
Topic - Garbage In, Garbage Out
The garbage is an unwanted or undesired material or substance. It is also referred to as rubbish, trash, waste, or junk depending upon the type of material.
The useless and unwanted materials discarded by humans are called wastes. They can be biodegradable or non biodegradable.
The biodegradable wastes can be decomposed by the microorganisms. This waste originates from plant and animal sources e.g., dead and decaying remains of plants and animals, faecal remains etc.
The non-biodegradable wastes do not break down into simple and harmless products by natural agents such as fungi, bacteria etc. example metallic oxides, DDT, lead, mercury, radioactive wastes etc.
