CAPRI’S FARAONE MENNELLA COMES TO PALM BEACH’S VIA COQUINA
Although Faraone Mennella is one of Capri’s most famed jewelry boutiques, the late namesake designer actually found fame in New York City–not Capri. And like a true Hollywood story, it all began on the set of “Sex & the City.” That’s right, Mennella was discovered by fashion designer and “Sex & the City” wardrobe stylist, Patricia Field, when Carrie Bradshaw was in need of a cameo necklace. It was Mennella’s design that donned Sarah Jessica Parker’s neck in an episode, and that “cameo appearance” would be the beginning of a long-standing collaboration between Mennella and Field. In fact, Field loved donning her plucky protagonists in Faraone Mennella’s Stella earrings, the semi-precious encrusted parabolic hoops that became hotter than a night out with Samantha (played by Kim Cattrall).
Today, Amedeo Scognamiglio, Roberto Faraone Mennella’s long-standing life and business partner, (the duo met in Italy, studied law in Naples and then hightailed it in tandem to NYC), continues the brand’s expansion with a gorgeous new collection. The “Love Lemons” collection draws inspiration from Capri and the famous lemons that the gorgeous island is most known for.
In both Palm Beach and the Hamptons, Faraone Mennella is exclusively available at Via Coquina’s retail locations. In addition, on February 1 through 3, Scognamiglio will visit Via Coquina’s Palm Beach boutique to meet with fans and showcase both his daytime looks and his more bespoke couture pieces. You can also shop the collection online at viacoquina.com.
