Climate change is the most important issue facing humanity for a generation, and so it is more important than even before to ensure we take steps to minimize our ecological impact.
All Urban Adventurer Cébé® frames (except Mio and Alea models) will now be made in Rilsan® Clear G850. This sustainable polymer, of plant origin and 100% renewable, was developed by Arkema to guarantee the highest standards of performance, durability, lightness, fexibility and resistance to impacts and chemicals, which makes this material perfect for optical solutions and outdoor use.
The Rilsan® Clear G850 used in the manufacture of our Urban Adventurer sunglasses is 45% bio-based, thus contributing to the reduction of our carbon footprint and our dependence on fossil fuels, while maintaining a high level of performance. It’s made from castor bean produced in the Gujarat region of India in semi-arid and drought-prone lands. It doesn’t hinder the cultivation of food products and doesn’t contribute to deforestation. The beans are frst crushed to extract the oil before being refned in several stages to create the bio-based raw material.
