clo FUNDRAISING CONCERT Earlier this year we celebrated 100 years of the Royal Navy. It is fitting therefore that the Armed Forces Charity, SSAFA, is marking this anniversary year with a concert given by the local Community Light Orchestra. Better known as the CLO, the popular orchestra, under the baton of Roger Jones, will be playing a varied programme including Grieg’s Peer Gynt, Suppé’s Poet and Peasant overture, a march by former musical director Barry Salmon and a medley based on Dicken’s A Tale of Two Cities by local composers and orchestra members Carolyn Goates and Chandra Grover. Guest soloist is Brendan Bennett, pictured, a young violinist who plays with Suffolk Youth Orchestra. The concert is at St John’s Church on Cauldwell Hall Road at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 17. A retiring collection will be in aid of SSAFA. Organisers of the charity will be available during the evening with more information about their work and how support through help and donations has helped the Forces’ families.
KISS AND TELL exhibition Opening this November at Christchurch Mansion, Kiss and Tell: Rodin and Suffolk Sculpture will bring renowned works by Auguste Rodin to Suffolk, and provide visitors with an opportunity to see the Ipswich sculpture collection for the first time. The centrepiece of the exhibition, Rodin’s iconic life-size marble sculpture The Kiss, is on loan from the Tate. A significant piece in the history of art, the sculpture of entwined lovers is inspired by Dante’s Inferno from The Divine Comedy. Several of Rodin’s other sculptures on loan from the Tate and East Anglian museums will also be on display. A highlight of the exhibition is a collection of life drawings by renowned Suffolk painter John Constable, which will be shown together for the first time. Known for his landscape paintings, the display of these works is a unique opportunity to see another side of the famous artist’s work. A varied events programme will complement the exhibition, with a talk from the curator and a Rodin Study Day featuring knowledgeable speakers. Other events include yoga for families, artist-led workshops, and a Valentine’s event with a chocolate workshop and screening of the classic romantic film Ghost. Kiss and Tell: Rodin and Suffolk Sculpture will be open to the public from November 24 until April 28. Admission is free. For more information on this landmark exhibition visit: www.kissandtellipswich.co.uk

NEWS / OUT & ABOUT FREE HEARING CHECKS Ten million people in the UK – one in six of us – have some degree of hearing loss. It's surprisingly tricky to spot gradual hearing loss as our brains are very good at compensating, so we're not even aware of how much we've lost until things are quite far advanced. With the festive season drawing nearer and nearer, there has never been a better time to seek help to improve your hearing. By taking action now you can enjoy the company of family and friends without feeling stressed or embarrassed about not being able to follow the conversation.
PROJECT ENCOURAGES WOMEN TO GARDEN AND GROW VEGETABLES ActivGardens is running a series of fun workshops as part of its Women’s Skills Exchange project to encourage women to learn about gardening, the environment, growing their own food, cooking from scratch and other skills. Our first workshop, Empower with Flowers, was on October 9, followed on October 23 with Core Cooking with Orchards East. The series continues with: Warm up for Winter: Tuesday, November 6, 11-2pm to at Chantry Walled Garden. Basic gardening skills, preparing for winter, taking cuttings, compostmaking, planning for spring with project co-ordinator Lesley Hartley Creative Christmas: Thursday, December 6, 10am-12.30pm at Chantry Walled Garden. Make a seasonal wreath or Christmas craft over a warming drink and mince pie. Take up Tools: February 2019, date TBC at the People’s Community Garden. Basic woodworking at our ActivSheds project – make an obelisk or bird box with Elaine. Get Buzzing for Spring: March 2019, date TBC at the People’s Community Garden. Beginner beekeeping, tour of hives and bee crafts with Betsy Reid. The project, funded through Suffolk Community Foundation, will involve women of all ethnicities in learning and sharing skills and developing new opportunities for themselves. Existing volunteers will act as garden companions to help newcomers settle in and learn gardening and horticultural skills. The project will bring women together in an active way to learn and share skills and improve their health and wellbeing in a welcoming environment. Women will be able to engage and develop at a pace to suit them, fitting around responsibilities of home and children, and doing as much as they are able. It will bring older women and younger women together in a spirit of sharing and co-operation. The sessions are designed to be fun, accessible and sociable – but places are limited, so please book. IN TOUCH WITH ELMER! On Friday, September 21 my In Touch colleagues and I took part in a fundraising event for St Elizabeth Hospice which raised £611.87. The Curry, Quiz & Raffle hosted by Isaacs on the Quay and Ipswich Buses was challenging, but a lot of fun, and all for a very good cause. We had two tables and let’s just say one did better than the other, but there wasn’t much in it. It’s always a good idea to let the boss win don’t you think! The evening is just one of many events taking place across the county as part of St Elizabeth Hospice’s Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk. The trail, which is based on the much loved character Elmer the patchwork elephant, sees the hospice once again join up with Wild in Art, who organised last year’s Pigs Gone Wild trail, and new partner Andersen Press who own the publishing rights to Elmer.

ORWELL DECORATIVE AND FINE ARTS SOCIETY On Wednesday, November 7, Dr Claire Walsh will present a talk entitled Tamara de Lempicka – Mistress of Art Deco.
Set in 1955, Jack Frost is the grumpy landlord who hates Christmas. His housekeeper Annabelle wants a day off for Christmas to spend with her family, much to the annoyance of Frost. He grants the day off, but tells her to stay late to work the extra hours she would miss on Christmas Day. That night, Frost is visited by a ghostly apparition of his late wife Mary. She scares Frost into seeing three visions: His past – taking him back to Victorian London where we get an insight into his miserable childhood and how he has become the man he is today. His present – where we see the family life he is missing, whereby a row 10 years previous with his only relation, his nephew, caused great upset in the family. We also see his hard working housekeeper Annabelle and how she is suffering from missing her children’s big concert. The future – showing how life has changed and how the people of London celebrate Christmas in 2018. The apparitions make Frost realise what he’s been missing. The morning of Christmas Day, Frost runs out in the street, wishing people a Merry Christmas and giving money to the poor. He reconciles with his nephew and family. He gives Annabelle the rest of the week off to celebrate Christmas and Frost finds a new love for the festive season, singing and dancing! Filled with songs suitable for all generations, from Victorian London to the hits of Christmas today, suitable for ages three to 93! A Christmas Tale runs from Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 December at Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge. Tickets – £15, concessions £13.50, Under 16 £10, Family (2+2) £45 – are available from The New Wolsey Theatre Box Office 01473 295900 or online at: www.cof4.co.uk

Tamara de Lempicka dazzled Paris artistic circles in the 1920s and 30s and seduced with her stylish portraits. These heady years saw her immortalise the atmosphere of wealth and decadence of Paris. Other painters oscillated between Cubism and Fauvism, but de Lempicka was one of the few to be able to embody the decorative style of Art Deco in her paintings. Stunningly beautiful, she engaged in the world of fashion and photography, as well as presenting herself as the quintessential modern, independent young woman. She was glamorous and notorious, but her extraordinary talent confirmed her reputation as one of the most iconic painters of her generation. Bread and Circuses is the title of our talk on Wednesday, December 5 and will be given by Libby Horner, a freelance art historian, curator, film producer, lecturer and writer. We meet at Tower Hall, Broadlands Way, Rushmere St Andrew on the first Wednesday of most months. Talks last about an hour, commencing at 2.15pm, with tea and coffee served from 1.30-2pm. Guests and non-members are welcome provided we have enough space. Exceptionally popular lectures will have a visitor limit of 20 spaces. Please contact Wendy Robbins in advance on 01394 823807 to check if there is available space. For the latest events and news please visit: www.orwelldfas.org.uk

BRIDGE – A GAME FOR ALL AGES Have you thought about playing Bridge? Do you enjoy playing cards? Do you think you are too young? Too old? Don’t know what it is? I have been playing since the late 1960s, when I was still at a local primary school. Clearly I’m biased, but I think the things that I found fascinating when I started and continue to find fascinating should appeal to people of any age. So what are these fascinating things? It’s a card game played as part of a team (usually of two but possibly four or eight). If you are a competitive person who likes being in a team, Bridge could be your game. What makes Bridge the Rolls Royce of card games is that it thoroughly tests your ability to think logically and analytically, improve your memory while also testing your creativity and imagination (with, like poker, many opportunities to bluff) as you try and work out who has what cards. So if you haven’t discovered the game yet, perhaps Bridge could be the game for you. Beginner’s classes are run by Ipswich and Kesgrave Bridge Club at Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre (KWMCC). If you want to know more contact Chris Green at greencj06@hotmail. co.uk or visit: www.bridgewebs.com/ipswich If you already know how to play but want to play more, a number of clubs meet in the Ipswich area; it depends on how often you want to play and what time(s) suit you best. For example, the largest club in the area is Ipswich and Kesgrave Bridge Club which meets at 7pm on Thursday evenings at KWMCC. If you want to know what options you have in terms of times and locations visit: www.bridgewebs.com/suffolkbridge

HARBOUR LIGHTS TRIO release first cd Local trio Harbour Lights are releasing their first CD, Good Company, in early November. The group, who are based in East Suffolk (Woodbridge, Rendlesham and Southwold) have performed for many local clubs and societies and at village concerts. They have also sung further afield at folk clubs and festivals such as Sidmouth and FolkEast. In October, they were guests at Sharps, a folk club held at the headquarters of the English Folk Dance and Song near Regents Park. The trio all sing and play a range of instruments such as concertinas, guitar, cello, banjo and melodeon, and sing an entertaining mix of East Anglian traditional songs, music hall and a few more recent gems. The CD features many songs sung by the well-known local character and retired gamekeeper, Alvar Smith. His broad Suffolk accented songs are a joy to hear. He is joined by Derek Simpson and Rob Neal and together they have recorded some true Suffolk entertainment - Good Company indeed!
There’s a new race in the Suffolk sporting calendar that organisers hope will rival other national events, while helping fundraise for one of the counties most cherished charities.
CAN YOU HELP?
Run or Cycle Events has teamed up with AgeUK Suffolk to create an exciting new mass participation running event for competitive and fun runners where solo runners and teams of two-to-eight people are challenged to cover as much distance as possible in 24 hours. A special Business Team Challenge category aims to encourage businesses to support AgeUK Suffolk’s 70th birthday fundraising appeal.
My name is Nigel Donkin. I live locally and as the new fundraising manager for the British Heart Foundation in Suffolk I am looking for your help. I would be delighted to have the support of some local volunteers to help me raise essential funds that are required to carry out the 1,000 research projects into heart disease, diabetes, vascular dementia and strokes currently undertaken by BHF.
Greg Cooper from Run or Cycle Events says: “ROC24 – Suffolk 2019 is designed to provide a friendly and inclusive running festival environment for participants of all abilities and will take place within the magnificent grounds of Culford School, Bury St Edmunds, from 1-2 June 2019. “Registration opened on October 1 and an amazing number of individuals and teams from far and wide have entered already. This is great news for us and our charitable partner AgeUK Suffolk. We have all been affected by the challenges faced by friends and family in later life, and so we are very proud to help support the fabulous services provided by this great charity.” Jo Reeder, Head of Fundraising & Marketing for Age UK Suffolk, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Run or Cycle Events for their inaugural ROC24 event, which we hope will see people of all ages take part, and help to raise funds for Age UK Suffolk. This event is a great way of getting involved, keeping fit and raising vital funds for a service that is supporting an ageing population. As a charity, we are particularly keen on partnership and team working, and would love to encourage teams of competitors to take part, and choose to support Age UK Suffolk as part of their activity.” 2018 sees the charity celebrate its 70th anniversary and with the launch of a new corporate supporter scheme, Platinum Friends, the charity aims to reach 70 new supporters in the year. Everyone in our community will know of someone affected by at least one of these horrible illnesses; with your help, we can advance our knowledge, understanding and treatment for all. In the last 50 years the BHF has halved the heart and circulatory disease death rate from 1:2 to 1:4 and the ambition is to halve that again in the next five years. In September and October we formed very vibrant teams of volunteers in Great Blakenham and Stowmarket. I’m sure there are many supporters living to the east of Ipswich that could come together to form a new team. To offer your support and find out more, come along to our awareness evening at Ipswich YM Rugby Club, The Street, Rushmere St Andrew IP5 1DG on Wednesday, November 14 at 7pm. I will be joined by survivors of heart disease and volunteers who are keen to share their experiences and demonstrate how the research undertaken by the BHF saves lives in every community, making it a very local charity. I look forward to meeting you all in person. Contact me at 07387 261861 / donkinn@bhf.org.uk or pick up a leaflet from the BHF shops in town. 13

OUT & ABOUT CANCER CAMPAIGN IN SUFFOLK celebrates TURNing 20
OPEN STUDIO SUPPORTING THE CHILDREN’S APPEAL
Cancer Campaign in Suffolk has just celebrated its 20-year anniversary of helping the residents of Suffolk before, during and after a cancer diagnosis. The trustees, the team, complementary therapists and counsellors and others joined together at The Crown in Woodbridge to celebrate the milestone and look back on what the charity has accomplished. It was also a special anniversary for Chief Executive Karen Hare who has been working at the charity for 10 years. Chairman Jonny Ripman spoke about how far the charity has come and thanked everybody who has been involved from the beginning and those new to the team. He said: “Present highlights are the education project which continues to show the need for prevention work. The pride in reaching so many people, over 30,000 to date from age four to 84, is a real achievement.” He continued: “The development of the It’s All About You beauty, wig and wellbeing project has been a step in the right direction. The charity has helped some remarkable women through these workshops, and it makes it an honour to be able to give them a little help at a difficult time in their lives.” Cancer Campaign in Suffolk built the John Le Vay Cancer Information and Support Centre based at Ipswich Hospital, where their complementary therapy and counselling takes place. They have also taken Caring for Me, a community complementary therapy project established by Corrine Peacock, under their wing in order to offer more free complementary therapy and counselling sessions to those with a cancer diagnosis in a community setting. Pictured (left to right) on the front row: John Button, Patricia Smith, Mary Cronin, Karen Hare, Corrine Peacock, Mark Atkinson and Helen Porter. Back row: Maggie James, John Matthews, Jonny Ripman, Alice Stebbings, Chris Myhill and Sarah Manton. Cancer Campaign in Suffolk is a local independent charity with no affiliation to any national charity or organisation. We welcome donations, legacies and fundraising so that together we can make a difference. All funds raised stay in Suffolk to help the local residents. www.ccisuffolk.org
Once again in the run-up to Christmas, illustrator Emma Graham will be opening her studio to visitors. This is a great opportunity to see behind the scenes and to view current work, sketchbooks and folio. Work, from greetings cards to original art, limited edition prints and gifts, will be available to purchase, making ideal and unique Christmas gifts. Meet Emma, chat about art, publishing and more. A warm welcome plus tea, coffee and mince pies awaits. Emma’s studio at 48 Great Harlings, Shotley Gate, Ipswich IP9 1NY will be open from 11am-4pm on Sundays, November 25 and December 2. If you can't make those dates but want to visit and look for a unique gift (or place a commission – do ask soon as she is getting booked up) then contact Emma who is happy to open by arrangement. Ten per cent from open studio sales will go to The Children’s Appeal at Ipswich Hospital for which Emma is the commissioned illustrator. The Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity launched a fundraising appeal in February 2018 to raise part of the £2.5m needed to build a new-look children’s department to transform the experience of its young patients and their families. They are now appealing for local businesses and individuals to give the appeal their backing by helping raise vital funds towards the total cost of the project, which would take place in phases over the next two to three years. You could make a difference. Every penny you donate to the appeal will help them develop the children’s department at Ipswich Hospital for their younger patients both now and in the future. So do go along to Emma’s open studio and help her make a donation to this wonderful charity. Alternatively you can make a one-off donation, set up a direct debit or send a donation by cheque made payable to The Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity Children’s Appeal at The Colchester & Ipswich Hospital Charity, Post Box No 49, Heath Road, Ipswich IP4 5PD. If you’d prefer to bring in cash raised through your fundraising, contact them at: 0300 7701369 / charity@esneft.nhs.uk www.egrahamillustrations.co.uk

SPORT KESGRAVE TENNIS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018 Jason Dove and Matt Johnson vied for the men’s singles title, but after a gladiatorial battle Matt retained his title after losing the first set, Jason leaving the court at the end in search of an ice bath! The junior final was contested by Jasper Mardell and Daniel Roberts. At first it looked as if the David and Goliath story was to be played out on court. Smaller in stature but big on placement, Jasper dominated the first few games. Daniel then found his form and his powerful serving and penetrating forehands gradually dominated as he went on to win comfortably. In the Plate Men’s Singles final on the adjacent court, Ashley Jordan found his younger, very talented opponent Mark Smee giving him no easy points and a good run-around. Similarly Debbie Hammond found her young opponent Amber Harding more experienced in singles play, but the score in the Plate Ladies Singles final didn’t reflect the dual of the match. In the Plate Junior Singles final Bart Lewandowski and Joel Thomson showed great enthusiasm. Strong groundstrokes and serving from Bart, along with more experience, gave him the edge and he came through comfortably in the end despite Joel’s continuous scampering and effort. Mark Smee partnered Paul Mickelsen in the Plate Men’s Doubles final and secured a second dominant win. Peter Howard and Graham Buddle tried many ways to foil the solid pair over the net, but the combination of Paul’s ‘lefty’ jinks and Mark’s all round quality play was too strong on the day. It was great to see Jan Hazell and Judith Emerson competing in the Plate Ladies Doubles final as both are keen non-team players whose love of the game is infectious. They were up against two young pretenders, and current team players, Amber Harding and Katherine Midwinter. While Amber and Katherine won the match, Jan and Judith shared the plaudits of the spectators and will hopefully be part of next year’s championships along with many other non-team players. Proving to be the longest match of the day was the ladies doubles between Annie Brown and Léa Denley and Alison Leech and Debbie Hammond. The players gave their all and the result was in doubt to the end. Winning in three sets Annie and Léa won their first title together having contested the singles earlier in the week. In the ladies singles final, Léa had beaten Annie playing more deftly and with more attack. Debbie Hammond was soon back on court with Steve Pilcher in the Plate Mixed Doubles playing against another three match player, Mark Smee, and his partner Katherine Midwinter. Mark continued his rich seam of form and despite strong resistance from Debbie and Steve he and Katherine managed to overcome the experience and quality court craft they faced. In the mixed doubles final, Léa Denley and Ben Coupe fought hard against seasoned doubles partners Alison Leech and Jason Dove who retained their title. Winners of the keenly contested speed serve competition: Men: Matthew Johnson 109 mph Ladies: Katherine Midwinter 70 mph Juniors: Jasper Mardell 53 mph The club is very grateful to Sportsmedeast, Kesgrave Tesco, Tonic Hairdressers, Little Luxuries, House of Hair, Mickelsen’s Butchers, Williams Stores Grundisburgh, Milsoms and many generous members who helped raise £145.50 for the trophy fund. CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS Men’s Singles: Matt Johnson bt Jason Dove 3-6 6-2 6-3 Ladies Singles: Léa Denley bt Annie Brown 6-4 6-3 Plate Men’s Singles: Mark Smee bt Ashley Jordan 6-2 6-0 Plate Ladies Singles: Amber Harding bt Debbie Hammond 6-3 6-0 Plate Men’s Doubles: Mark Smee/Paul Mickelsen bt Graham Buddle/Peter Howard 6-0 6-0 Ladies Doubles: Annie Brown & Léa Denley bt Alison Leech & Debbie Hammond 7-5 4-6 6-4 Plate Ladies Doubles: Amber Harding/Katherine Midwinter bt Jan Hazell/ Judith Emerson 6-0 6-1 Mixed Doubles: Alison Leech/Jason Dove bt Léa Denley/Ben Coupe 6-3 6-3 Plate Mixed Doubles: Katherine Midwinter/Mark Smee bt Debbie Hammond/Steve Pilcher 7-6 6-3 Junior Singles: Daniel Roberts bt Jasper Mardell 8-3 (best of 11 games) Plate Junior Singles: Bart Lewandowski bt Joel Thomson 6-2 (1 set)

SCHOOLS / CHURCH NEWS MARTLESHAM & KESGRAVE PLAYSCHOOLS
BIXLEY FARM CHURCH AT TOWER HALL: SUNDAY@4
At Kesgrave Playschool we have been loving the outdoor explorer sessions. These nature-based sessions allow children to develop a sense of their local environment, promote overall well-being and encourage natural curiosity, risk assessment and independence. Some of the activities the children have taken part in are: senses nature walks, mud kitchen sessions, making faces using natural objects in the woods and environment colour hunts. We have also been promoting British values through introducing a daily choice. Children now vote in order to make important decisions such as which story we read, what fruit/veg we have for snack, or if we sing or dance at end of session. It’s been a great talking point for the children and staff. It not only allows children to feel respected and listened to, but also helps develop a tolerance for others with differing thoughts or feelings.
As autumn heads towards winter we have several events and activities planned, before, dare we mention the word… Christmas! Each year it seems to come around more quickly.
At Martlesham everyone is getting involved with our new themes. We have a new theme in our role play area each week with new and exciting activities for the children to explore. We have now spent the rest of our Tesco money and bought a new playhouse for the garden. The children have been exploring the environment with the little explorers club, making natural crowns, collecting leaves and doing rubbings. We still have some spaces left for this and future terms at both playschools and we welcome you to come and look round. Our dedicated teams ensure that your child will have excellent opportunities to learn and grow with us. Call us at Kesgrave Playschool on 07746 907060 to arrange a visit or visit our Facebook page – martleshamandkesgraveplayschools. At Martlesham we offer all year round places; call us on 01473 625986 or visit our Facebook page – martleshamplayschool – for more information. www.mandkplayschools.co.uk
AUTUMN AT BRIGHT STARS
Together with our partner MIE churches, we support the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal. Its mission is to show God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Since 1990, more than 157 million children in over 160 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. We were fortunate enough last year to see and hear the impact of these gifts to children. On Saturday, October 27 there will be a Shoebox Sale at St John’s Church, Cauldwell Hall Road from 11am-2pm. Every item on sale will be suitable to include in an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. We encourage people to fill a shoebox with small gifts to be sent to a child in need somewhere in the world. These boxes are distributed in the receiving countries by local Christians as part of the work their churches are already doing in their local community. It is exciting to know that children who are living in grinding poverty, running for their lives from war or living with the effects of natural disasters will be blessed by something as simple as a box of gifts. Things like a cuddly toy, a toothbrush and a pencil and paper are special to these children. This year we will be holding a special Shoebox Service at Tower Hall on Sunday, November 4 at 4pm. This will be a service for all the family. You are welcome to come along and find out more about the children who receive these gifts and if you want to bring a completed shoebox to this service we will be pleased to receive it. If you have never filled a box before and need more information, please come to St John’s on the above date or ring Marilyn on 07758 555775. We are also excited to be working alongside St Augustine’s Church to organise the Broke Hall Carols on the Green on Saturday, December 8, an event that has been running for several years and has proved very popular with the local community.
Fun activity sessions for pre-school aged children with parents, grandparents, friends, family and/or carers on the second and fourth Mondays of each month during term times from 10.30am-noon at St Michael’s Church Centre, Martlesham Heath IP5 3PL.
If you enjoy carolling then come and join us around Bixley Farm on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 13 December. It’s great fun and lovely to see children and families come to watch. Please feel free to join in the singing and enjoy some mulled wine after. We try to visit different areas of Bixley Farm, but always start at Tower Hall. For further details please contact the MIE office as below.
The remaining autumn term dates are: November 12 and 26 and December 10.
Our Carol Service will be on Sunday, December 16 and our Nativity Service on Sunday, December 23. More details of these will be in the next issue of In Touch.
For further information contact Sonya and Maureen Burrows: 01473 625196 November is the time of bonfires and fireworks when winter can be seen (and felt) just on the horizon. This month also sees our church prayer theme on Mediation where we will be taking a look at the idea of taking time out to contemplate God’s Word and how it affects our day-to-day living. As we ponder and concentrate on these scriptures our hope is that you will gain a deeper understanding of what the Lord is saying to each and every one of us.
We also continue our regular weekly events: the toddler group, Little Lambs, from 9.15-11am every Friday during term time at Tower Hall; a fortnightly midweek Homegroup in Foxwood Crescent; and Time of Prayer at Tower Hall on the first Thursday of the month at 7pm and again at 8pm. Bixley Farm Church (CofE) was initiated by St John’s, Cauldwell Hall Road and St Andrew’s, Britannia Road (collectively called Mission Ipswich East). For further information/questions visit www.mie.org/bixley or contact: office@mie.org.uk / 01473 270978
May we all grow in our love for Jesus as we think positively and reflect through these daily readings. In these scriptures we will find strength and depth in the ordinary every-day, enough to get us through the routine, common and familiar. Interested? then just check our Facebook and Twitter pages day by day or find the whole month on our website under 30 Days of Prayer. Have a blessed November and hope to see you on Sunday! Join us on Sunday mornings at 11.30am (Café and Children’s Church 10.30am) at The Ark Church, The Drift, Nacton Road, Ipswich IP3 9QR. You can contact us via email at arkipswichuk@gmail.com and we can also be found on Facebook and on Twitter @arkipswich or online at www.arkipswich.co.uk where you will find up-to-date information on what’s happening at the Ark during each week.
