Are you familiar with Leadership Modesto, a program of the Modesto Chamber of Commerce?
Have you heard that we launched a Leadership Modesto 40th Anniversary Reconnect?! Can you believe that in the past 40 years there have been approximately 850 individuals from throughout our county who have participated? The Alumni reconnect is an effort to bring back together as many classmates as possible from across all 40 years of this program. With this there will be an approximate yearlong Alumni community project as well. Just like old times, right?
Currently, the Leadership Modesto Class of 2023 is actively raising funds for their own project. It is called “Coffee with a Mission” benefitting Volente Coffee, a program of the Modesto Gospel Mission. They have a lofty goal which will aid in giving a hand up for training and skills development for those at the Mission working their way up!
• August to September brings us the application season for Leadership Modesto 2024. If you are interested in learning more, or applying, please go to our website and social media platforms for information on when the application portal is open.
We all know that our agriculture industry is not only an anchor of our region’s economic vitality, but it also puts us at the top of the nation’s food supply chain providing quality food and nutrition for families. September brings us one of the Greater Modesto Chamber of Commerce’s longest standing traditions.
On Friday the 15th we will host the 61st Annual Harvest Luncheon. We do this in partnership with our Ag Committee. This will take place at Modesto Junior College’s ACE Ag Pavilion, located on the west campus, from 11:30am to 1pm.
We proudly host this event to raise scholarship funds for Modesto Junior College Agriculture students preparing to continue in their ag education. Please register today to be a sponsor or to purchase tickets.
In our effort to be innovative with the initiatives we develop to bring positive impact to our greater community, we are extremely excited to present our inaugural Touch a Truck family day September 30th. This is a totally new and unique event concept for the valley. This fun and inventive environment will provide an up-close, hands-on experience for our young people to see types of equipment and vehicles used to keep a wide variety of industries in action all around us. You will find some local food vendors, youth and family support and service non-profits, and some interactive activities for the children. Free to youth 12 and under, and $5 per person for all the rest. Please join us at the Modesto Junior College ACE Ag Pavilion between 9am and 3pm.
• Our Touch a Truck event will be the first event to benefit our Modesto Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Proceeds from this event will fund our inaugural scholarship fund, focused on the trades, many of which will be featured in the equipment present.

Students at Modesto Junior College and Columbia College will have increased access to UC Merced thanks to an agreement signed Monday by officials from the university and Yosemite Community College District.
The agreement – known as the Merced Promise Pathway memorandum of understanding (MOU) – provides a clear, streamlined pathway to UC Merced for MJC and Columbia students as well as a variety of supports to help them prepare for life at a four-year university.
YCCD Chancellor Henry C. V. Yong called the agreement “a great day for our students and residents in our district,” which covers all or parts of Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Calaveras and Santa Clara counties.
“With this agreement, our students’ futures are now brighter and more promising,” said Yong, who signed the MOU with UC Merced Chancellor Juan Sánchez Muñoz at a ceremony on the university campus.
The UC leader said the Merced Promise Pathway will help his campus achieve one of its key goals from its founding in 2005.
“In signing this agreement, we honor the original purpose that impelled the UC system to place its newest campus in the Central Valley – a vow to increase college-going rates among the valley’s population, and a promise of progress and a better life,” Muñoz said.
Highlights of the Merced Promise Pathway include:
• Review pathways to facilitate an orderly and smooth transition from MJC and/or Columbia to UC Merced.
• Attract, track and retain qualified YCCD transfer students to UC Merced with an aspirational goal to increase transfers to 100 students by 2025.
• Target first-year YCCD students for program participation who applied to UC Merced as high school seniors but were not granted admission.
• Develop an online program mapper, a clear, simple-touse tool that will allow students to select a program of study and accelerate their progress toward completion.
• Develop opportunities for summer undergraduate research projects for community college students on track to transfer to UC Merced.
• Develop a Yosemite Promise Scholars program for students who met specified criteria and for UC Merced to offer a financial scholarship package to attend the university as part of a transfer pathway.
Together, MJC and Columbia serve more than 30,000 students. Many of them are the first in their families to attend college or come from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Roughly 75% of MJC and Columbia students receive some form of financial aid. Like with CSU Stanislaus in Turlock – another popular transfer destination for YCCD students – the proximity of UC Merced offers an economic incentive for many students and their families.
“Due to UCM’s prime location, many YCCD students will not even have to leave home to attend a UC institution,” Yong said. “They will end up saving money on housing, which they could use for their graduate studies. All in all, this agreement is definitely a pathway to success for MJC and Columbia students.”
This is the third agreement of its kind between UC Merced and community college districts in the Central Valley. The other partnerships include are with Merced College and Fresno City College.

We decided to build a well-founded and reputable SEO business after hearing countless stories from friends and business owners regarding scams and being ripped off by companies that don't deliver.
Compared to many companies who invest their efforts in selling you and overpromising and underdelivering. We invest our efforts in building well-designed websites with well-written, relevant content. All this takes time, diligence, patience, and care to accomplish. Content needs to be fresh, and the website needs to be SEO strong; these are among our concerns on your behalf.
We are an upfront and to the point company, much like my mechanic. He would never try to up-sell us; he always gives us just what we need, no more, no less, and his prices are fair. We operate with a high integrity and work ethic that is mandatory for success.
Here at Sisbro Innovation, we take our customers’ business very seriously; we don't just build websites and rank websites; we develop friendships and family relationships with our customers.
If you have any questions, please feel to contact us. We always have time to stop what we are doing, take a coffee break, and receive a call from our clients or potential clients. Our clients are our focus, so we always want to ensure that your questions are answered and that you are in a stress-free space when you work with us.
The Sis in Sisbro is a foster child, but her Foster mom never made her feel like a foster child; she was just one of her kids. Kathryn's Mother was dedicated to building a family that included all the foster children and the kids from the neighborhood. Mom instilled in all her children; A family does not require that two people share the same blood; a family is about those we care about and help grow and encourage by giving a lot of unconditional love. Sisbro Innovation's values will always be focused on Family, and we want to see our Family continue growing through the businesses we touch. Our clients are our Sisters and Brothers, hence the name Sisbro Innovation.
Kathryn "Kim" Ramos was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Puerto Rican parents. Her parents struggled to raise her, leading them to choose to place her in foster care. Her foster parents were also Puerto Rican and raised her in a typical Puerto Rican environment with her five foster siblings.
At 9.75 years of age, Kathryn went to live with her biological Mother and sister in California. Her biological Mother decided to relocate to Puerto Rico so Kathryn could be closer to her birth father and his Family. Kathryn attended school in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. While this was much of a culture shock, Kathryn soon adapted and learned the language. Kathryn not only had her biological family back in her life she was able to forge lifelong friendships that Kathryn also considers Family.
Fast forward, Kathryn gave birth to her beautiful daughter Tiffani in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, who later gave Kathryn the joy of her heart, her Grandson Domiyanno. After giving birth, Kathryn headed back to the mainland to raise her daughter and to be closer to her siblings. Kathryn now calls Modesto, California home and is overjoyed that her family also now lives in Modesto. She looks forward to her daughter and grandson joining the family from Colorado. As Kathryn states, Family is the most important thing in my life. The importance of creating a peaceful, happy space was a priority for Kathryn, and she found her peace and happiness in Modesto, California.
What do you enjoy most about your business?
Kathryn has a special fondness for Sisbro Innovations, appreciating its commitment to helping local businesses thrive in the digital landscape. Of all the services offered, her favorite is the Pay As You Go Optimized Website Program. This program resonates with Kathryn because of its flexibility, affordability, and effectiveness in helping businesses establish a robust online presence.
She enjoys the fact that this program breaks down the barriers of website creation and optimization, making it accessible to businesses of all sizes. Kathryn appreciates the pay-as-you-go model, as it allows businesses to invest in their digital presence at a pace that suits their budget and needs, rather than being saddled with substantial upfront costs.
What Kathryn values most about Sisbro Innovations is the company's mission to educate local business owners on the importance of a well-optimized and secure website. She understands that in today's digital age, a business's website is often the first point of contact for potential clients.

Therefore, having an optimized site can significantly enhance a business's visibility and credibility, ultimately driving more traffic and potential sales.
Moreover, Kathryn is passionate about the importance of website security. She knows that when potential customers interact with a business online, they trust that business with their personal information.
Kathryn went on to explain “It's the business owner's responsibility to protect a potential client’s information by ensuring their website is secure.” Kathryn loves that Sisbro Innovations takes this seriously and incorporates website security measures into their optimization program.
In her interactions with local business owners, Kathryn emphasizes these points, and shares her knowledge and passion for helping Local Business Owners. She finds great satisfaction in helping businesses understand and implement these principles, watching them grow and succeed as a result of their enhanced digital presence.

From when you first envisioned your business, to now, how has it changed? What do you see coming down the road?

This network allows her to confidently recommend local businesses to her clientele, as well as to her friends and family. In this way, Kathryn actively contributes to the growth of her local community by promoting and supporting small businesses.
Kathryn envisions a future where her impact extends beyond her current scope, with a clear goal to continue fostering growth within the Modesto community and the broader Stanislaus area. With her dedication and expertise in digital marketing, she anticipates strengthening existing relationships and forging new ones, all while supporting the digital transformations of more local businesses.
In line with evolving digital trends, Kathryn understands the importance of staying abreast of innovations in the industry. She sees a future where AI and machine learning play an increasingly significant role in digital marketing.
Kathryn is keen on leveraging these technologies to offer personalized and effective solutions to her clients.
Furthermore, with data privacy and security becoming paramount, Kathryn is committed to helping businesses safeguard their customers' data and adapt to emerging regulations. Her vision includes expanding her services to offer robust data protection measures and comprehensive privacy consulting.
With the ever-increasing importance of content marketing, Kathryn sees herself guiding businesses to create compelling, engaging content across diverse formats, from video production to podcasting.
Kathryn looks forward to a future that's even more deeply rooted in the Modesto community and the Stanislaus area, where she can continue supporting local businesses in navigating the dynamic digital landscape.

Modesto, CA: To assist climate-conscious companies in navigating the impending 2024 California Air Resource Board (CARB) zero emissions equipment requirements, Pacific Bay Equipment is inviting you to see and test out the innovative new Tuffy PowerLoad system. Mobile, 100% electric, with zero emissions, this state-of-theart newly developed equipment is fully CARB compliant and something we believe you and your viewers would appreciate learning more about.
What is CARB? The California Air Resource Board (CARB) zero emissions ban begins next year and it impacts off-road spark-ignition engines that produce 25 horsepower or less, including industrial and commercial equipment such as pressure washers, generators and more.
Why does it matter? Most companies have a pressure washer they use for cleaning and sanitizing purposes of just about everything, from factory floors to school buses to transportation terminals and more. A majority of them are gas-powered. As leaders in innovative cleaning technologies, we knew we had to source CARB-compliant solutions that would ensure companies could continue to properly clean their equipment and facilities, and at the same time be eco-conscious by eliminating gas-powered pressure washers.
Turning up the pressure. The new industrial strength Tuffy PowerLoad system has been engineered to exceed CARB requirements, delivering superior cleaning results using cold-water. Impressively powerful, easy-to-use, effective and eco-conscious, this new technology has to be seen to be appreciated.
Come try it out! We would like to invite you to visit our showroom and see – and even try your hand at using – this innovative system. Put it through its paces and see how all-electric cleaning power can clean without needing gas.
About Us: Pacific Bay Equipment is the premier provider of innovative cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting & water treatment solutions since 1976. From off-theshelf to custom designed systems, our mission is to identify the best and most cost-effective solutions for your needs, all supported by ‘old-fashioned’ customer service.
For more information about Pacific Bay Equipment and the TuffyPowerLoad, visit https:// pacificbayequipment.com/its-time-to-get-toughon-gas/.

Over the span of 17 years, Network Builders has expanded its reach considerably. We have grown from our Modesto roots, setting up additional branches in California and extending our footprint all the way to Texas. This growth has also led to an increase in our client base, which now extends across the United States.
Along our journey, the Network Builders team has earned many industry awards including being listed as one of the top Managed Services companies globally six times, been picked as best of the 209 two years and have been listed on the Inc. 5000 list twice. These accolades illustrate the dedication the Network Builders team has to its profession and the customers they serve.
As of today, our services have evolved to incorporate fully managed and co-managed IT solutions, and phone services, bolstered by a strong focus on cybersecurity. We understand the importance of cybersecurity protection in today's business world and make it a priority to ensure our clients have the systems in place to protect their data and operations.
Network Builders doesn't only focus on business expansion and service improvement. A key tenet of our values is to give back to the communities in which we operate. An integral aspect of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives is our commitment to combating human trafficking.
To achieve this, we adopt and support non-profit organizations in the major cities where we have a presence, offering our IT services and support free of charge.
In our founding city of Modesto, we have formed a strong partnership with Without Permission (withoutpermission. org), an organization that actively works to stop human trafficking. We encourage our business partners and affiliates to join our efforts, as collective action can have a significantly greater impact.
Additionally, we are proud to contribute our services to the Children's Crisis Center of Stanislaus County (childrenscrisiscenter.com) and the Center for Human Services (centerforhumanservices.org). Both of these organizations perform critical roles in our community, providing essential services to those in need, and we are privileged to be able to support their endeavors.
With the cybersecurity landscape being complex to navigate and the risks to businesses increasing daily, Network Builders is offer to all qualifying Modesto Chamber members an easy to perform security audit. Regardless of if you have an existing IT company or internal staff supporting your business, you need to know how ready your business is to stop threat actors from stealing or encrypting the company data.
