Letter from the President

President’s MESSAGE T

he mission of the Riverbank’s Chamber of Commerce is to improve commerce throughout the city, position ourselves as a leader in business development, and to support the city in its 2025 strategic plan agenda. To accomplish this mission, our Board of Directors is comprised of unique individuals with business acumen, likeminded visions, and the passion to ensure that we provide superior and effective business services. The Chamber of Commerce is in the business of giving back to the community by way of sponsoring special events, such as the Concerts in the Park Family Night Out at the Certified Farmers’ Market and the annual Cheese and Wine Festival. The Chamber supports local non-profit and community organizations. It is important for businesses to be a part of a powerful business network and remain on the cutting edge. It is vital for businesses to maintain the skills and resources that will improve their position in the marketplace and expand their community presence. The Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization; therefore, your membership dues may be tax deductable as an ordinary business expense. Looking at the City of Riverbank, we see how it has developed over time into an attractive community and an economic magnet for new and existing businesses. We can see the Bay Area’s community moving into our direction with new spending habits and millennial flavor. With this new economic resource gracing our city, it is our responsibility as business leaders to be prepared to support the needs of our community and maintain economic strength. We now see luxury vehicles touring our city streets, pedestrian joggers, bicyclists, shopping malls and luxury movie theaters, all of which are a reflection of an upcoming, flourishing city. We have become an attractive place to live creating an environment full of resources to meet everyone’s needs. Our community continues to become more of a green environment with technology as the driving force. How well is your business doing during this first 100 days of 2017? Are you on target? Do you know where your business is going? The Riverbank Chamber of Commerce can put your business on track and assist in fulfilling your business needs. A membership in the Chamber of Commerce offers many advantages which enhance business success, an edge not enjoyed by non-members. The purpose of the Chamber is to assist you, as a business owner, by providing valuable tools to help you grow your business. As a Chamber member, your business will have a variety of advantages to include the following: • Your business will be a part of a network of local busiRiverbank Chamber

nesses with similar community interests and concerns and can interact with like-minded business owners and professionals. • Your business will become a member of a team with the goal of increasing global awareness of your community and its commerce, as well as your individual business or service. Your business can speak with a unified voice regarding community and business issues. • Your business will have a platform from which to express opinions and offer information to the public. Using available technology, you can broadcast your business or service both locally and globally. • Your business will have access to a public forum for community involvement, education, cultural activities, and public debate. • Your business will have access and may contribute to the community calendar, which is used to disseminate information on community events, business meetings, and items of interest to Chamber members as well as to the public. • Your business will be listed in the Chamber’s powerful business directory for easy access to other members, but primarily to members of the public who may be looking for your services to fit their needs. • Your business will have access to the only recognized business support center in the community with online selling tools to increase your sales through the internet. As a member of the Chamber, you contribute to community pride by putting the community on display, and promoting activities and events that present the Chamber members as vibrant and involved. Members provide the public with a location where visitors can find information on the community and local businesses. Chamber members can utilize the headquarters for projects, business promotions, board meetings and various Chamber and business needs. As a member, you have full-time representation and someone who protects your interests economically. Members also have access to new technology which expands your web influence, your access to information, and your ability to communicate through the internet and use of mobile devices which is an important application in today’s economy. Without the support of the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce and the necessary technology it makes available, your business will lack a much-needed edge in a tight market for an independent business to be successful in the turbulent economic seas that are prevalent today. If you are interested in your business growth, please contact the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce so we can assist you with all of your business needs. You may contact the Chamber via email at www.riverbankchamber.org or by contacting one of our directors at (209) 869-4541.

About Riverbank

Riverbank - The City of Action A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT!

R

iverbank was founded as a ferry crossing in the 1850’s, known as Burneyville and was established as a town with the coming of the Santa Fe Railroad. Major James Burney, sheriff of Mariposa, established the Burneyville Ferry over the Stanislaus River at the site of the modern bridge in Riverbank.Incorporated on August 23, 1922; Riverbank’s official slogan is “The City of Action.” In 2009, Riverbank’s downtown was remodeled with the new attraction that included a downtown plaza with a mural

and statue of a cable ferry operator. Riverbank is rich in history and a visit to the Riverbank Historical Museum is the place to learn so much more. The City of Action is just that offering its residents and visitors events for all ages. Two of Riverbanks main events are Friday nights Concerts in the Park Family Night Out at the Riverbank Certified Farmers’ Market held at the Community Center Park in June and July hosted by the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce. Riverbank also is host to the Annual

Cheese and Wine Festival which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016. It is held the second weekend in October. To cool down in the summer visit Jacob Myers Park which on the Stanislaus River. Riverbank has some 16 parks throughout the city for everyone to enjoy. There are many events and clubs to join....Adult and Senior Programs, Aquatics, Camps, Teen Programs and Events, Youth Programs and Sports Camp. A CUT ABOVE Keep an eye out for our meat items from your local grocer.

We only want the finest quality meat products for our grill, and we think you deserve the same.

Supporting Family Farmers

neverboring.com

We are proud to support our local farmers, whose families raise the natural chicken that we hand-cut to our customers specifications. We specialize in preparing quality meat products so food service professionals can trust their supply.

Let us help provide Quality Meats for your next CAMPFIRE COOKOUT.

Riverbank Magazine 02_NEW.indd 20

Our family business also raises grass-fed beef in the pastures and foothills of Central California. We believe in using generations-old methods to produce pure protein. Old-fashioned quality, old-fashioned taste.
