Mental Health Rehabilitation Center.

Description: This 60-bed medical center, was designed as part of the research project to get the bachelor's degree of architecture. The research discussed issues relating to the management of shapes and textures, and its contribution to the regeneration of mentally disabled individuals. Based on the architectural concept of Earth as protector mother, the circular form is used on buildings to create an oasis of tranquility in the center of the project. This in order to create a safe space where the mentally ill could socialize, taking advantage of the good weather that is a constant throughout the year.

Description: Located in the Miraflores district of Santo Domingo, this set of residences comes to cover the lack of housing generated by the steady growth of the Universidad Iberoamericana (with the largest population of foreign students throughout the country). The simple plan building, orders 28 units (50 square meters) on the sides of the site with a central courtyard, encouraging natural ventilation in all the residences.

Description: A project focused on the increasing demand of apartments in the Naco district. Located just minutes from downtown, with access to the main financial centers and entertainment. With an area of 4,500 square meters of construction, the tower is divided as follows: •1 Penthouse (2 stories), 750 sqm. •2 Penthouses, 396 sqm. •7 Apartments of 175 sqm. •8 Apartments of 107 sqm. •4 Apartments of 85 sqm. •8 Apartments, 77 sqm. •Social area (with Lounge Area, outdoor terrace and pool), 305 sqm. •Parking lot (3 stories).

Description: House of 250 square meters, designed for a family of 4 members. Due to the small size of the site, and the inability to make an exterior garden, the house has been designed around an interior garden which also serves to hold the wood stair.

Description: Located in San Cristobal, near to the capital of the country, the "Centro Medico Constitución" (CEMECO) has experienced a growth in demand in the recent years. Having acquired land around it, is ready to grow physically. The proposal consists in two additional buildings, which will be divided according to their use: Surgical (old building), Consultation, and Hospitalization. Increasing the total area from 2,500 to 7,500 square meter.

Concrete Three-dimensional Elements. - SYSTEM

Project year:

2012.

Description: Design of an industrialized system of construction of three-dimensional elements of reinforced concrete. The main idea is to reduce construction time on site, limiting the construction process to the workshop and transporting the elements (as finished as possible) to be assembled on site. The system is based on two concrete frames and hollow-core slabs. Is been modulated based on a block of 3.00 x 3.00 x 9.00 meters (size limit to be transported in Spain), allowing the length to be variable according to the project requires.

Concrete Three-dimensional Elements. - PROJECT (Elementary School).

Oboro. Hokkaido, Japan. 1,700 sqm. 2012.

Description: Having designed the system to be used in regular conditions, it is proposed to use it in a project in Japan, to test it on two variables: extreme weather and earthquakes. For this, the system had to suffer some alterations, such as: anchorages strengthening, use of a concrete rigid core (made on site), pitched roofs, underfloor heating, use of ventilated facade (north) and curtain wall (south).

Post-Tensioned Rammed Earth. - SYSTEM.

Description: Design of an industrialized system of construction of rammed earth. The main idea is to reduce construction time on site, standarizing the construction process, and taking advantage of the thermal performance of the earth as a building material. The system is based on: •Continuous reinforced concrete foundation (made in situ). •Wood ring beam. •Rammed earth bearing walls as a facade finish. •Stainless steel reinforcing bar for manual posttensioning. •Prefabricated wood panels for use as slabs. •Extensive green roof. •Structural lost formwork for openings. •Wooden climbing formworks.

Description: Concept store for the Dominican brand "Manuel Tarrazo Shoes". The concept comes from the conveyor belt in the manufacturing process, and the shoes are exhibited as artwork.

Description: Concept store for a cigar shop. The concept handled is a garden to smoke, trying to provoke in the user the feeling of freedom of be outside. Understanding the "smoking" as an act to be held outdoors, the concept plays with parallelism.
