LIVING LATTICE Living lattice recognizes the most direct perception of a variety of urban spaces and life in Dubai. A perception which encompasses simple and mundane street life to most active and vibrant events across the city.
The city has retained a series of patterns in its fold while keeping a fast pace of growth. Districts, piazzas, streets, sikkas, atriums, parks and numerous other spaces reflect a huge variety of these patterns visible through the built form, proportions of spaces, surfaces they hold, activities they contain and a sense of time associated with each one of them.
Through Urban Sketching these patterns have been captured in a variety of sections which cover streets, architecture, spaces and people. These form part of the identifiable rhythm and a sense of pattern which is dynamic and growing. These form part of a large living lattice, an active ingredient of Dubai’s vibrant urban sprawl.
The sketches are candid conversations with the city and its people. Each sketch has a sense of location and story.

www.facebook.com/urbansketchersdubai/ Urban Sketchers Manifesto The Urban Sketchers Manifesto aims to define what urban sketching is all about. But it's not a binding set of rules. The basic idea behind these 8 points is to provide a unifying vision for the global urban sketching community. We encourage diversity in subject matter, style and technique.

We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel. Our drawings are a record of time and place. We are truthful to the scenes we witness. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles. We support each other and draw together. We share our drawings online. We show the world, one drawing at a time.
