However, United secured the win in the dying moments of the game – thanks to a free kick by the mercurial Robin Van Persie. 2014/15:

The 2014/15 season saw a derby at Old Trafford that was a thrilling end-to-end encounter. City took the lead through Sergio Aguero, but United hit back with goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling. Aguero scored a late consolation for City, but it was too little too late as United secured a comfortable 4-2 victory.
