The special Aqua technology causes the formation of a small amount of pearls when spraying on the paints. The bubbles disappear during drying. The result is a surface that is as smooth as glass with uniform paint application. If the layer of paint is too thick with conventional paints this can lead to the paint running and drops forming as it flows downwards – this creates so-called “drips”. a-system is different: the Aqua formula ensures that the spray paint retains its structure when drying even with thicker layers of paint, preventing the paint from running. We recommend applying the paint in two or more spray coats with thicker paint applications to achieve optimum spraying results. a-system spray paint can be reapplied after a drying time of just three to five minutes between coats.

Pre-treatment: all surfaces must be clean, dry and free from rust and grease. Sand surfaces beforehand if necessary. Wood: dry sand with grain size P240. Metal: Dry sand with grain size P400 - P600, apply a primer to ferrous metals. Preparation: shake the can until you can hear the mixing ball. Then shake thoroughly for a further 2 minutes. Briefly spray the can and perform a test spray before the first application. Handling: always hold the can in a vertical position. Spray coats: spray on a thin undercoat and apply several opaque spray coats after 3 - 5 minutes. Observe a drying time of 3 - 5 min. between each coat. A spray coat corresponds to a dry film thickness of approx. 30 μm. Spraying distance: approx. 10 -25 cm Drying: the following information refers to a dry film thickness of approx. 60 μm (2 spray coats), a temperature of 20°C and relative humidity of 50%. Dust-dry: drying level 1 according to DIN 53150 20 min. Touch-dry: drying level 3 according to DIN 53150 70 min. As with all water-based paints, the drying times of the Marabu a-system are also heavily dependent on the ambient temperature and relative humidity in particular. Low relative humidity leads to shorter drying times and high humidity leads to longer drying times. Further processing: the paints can be recoated at any time with the same product. After finishing the work: turn the can around and spray the valve until it is empty after finishing the painting process. Wipe the spray head with a damp cloth to avoid the paint drying on the spray head.
