Week 9
AutoCAD Paper space review
Tools for the day – Array, Wipeout, Divide, properties... And if we get time.
Help!!! My paper space – looks wrong!
+The first thing to do is to check the paper size
Check here for paper size
Right click tab- select page setup manager We now know that the paper size is correct - & we also know the view poet window is scaled correctly – the only other possibility is that the plot scale is wrong. The plot scale is the relationship between the viewport windows and the sheet of paper. To change this we go to the modify button within page setup manager.
PDF to check layers and line weights for printing
Should always keep it in mm and 1:1
Array tool – brings up a great tool bar/ribbon (to draw chairs for the furniture)
Example: draw an object – using the line tool
Shortcut for array is AR
Select array objects – press spacebar –
center point of array
Select the object and choose “Polar”, then specify center point of array
This arrow lets you add more objects to the circular path so if you press and move this is what you’ll get…
…they are all on one side and then you can use the next arrow to get the others going on to get a full path
To create table and chairs: You draw your object (table) follow the same steps and then you can choose the number of items (5 chairs or something)
Choose between Rectangular, Path and Polar Rectangular
- Rows and columns
Path
- Along a line / polyline
Polar
- Copied about a point
Wipe out tool Hides a selected area –it has a similar effect in essence to trim – but the bonus is that it is nondestructive – enabling you to keep the data beneath.
Divide tool - Shortcut DIV Cuts objects into segments – and displays them as nodes. Make sure your nodes are on under the OSNAP menu – To bring up the OSNAP menu- hold control and right click – then select OSNAP settings-the symbol for a node
