Fighting The Good Fight Of Faith

Leader: Hold tightly to the eternal life that God has given you and that you have confessed with such a ringing confession before many witnesses.

Leader: I command you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a fearless testimony before Pontius Pilate, that you fulfill all he has told you to do so that no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

People: Lord, we are fighting the good fight of faith.

Leader: For in due season Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only Almighty God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

People: Lord, we are fighting the good fight of faith

1 Timothy 6:11-15 Modern English Version / Living Bible The Good Fight of Faith 11 O Timothy, you are God’s man. Run from all these evil things, and work instead at what is right and good, learning to trust God and love others and to be patient and gentle.12 Fight the good fight of faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life that God has given you and that you have confessed with such a ringing confession before many witnesses. 13 I command you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a fearless testimony before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you fulfill all he has told you to do so that no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ returns. 15 For in due season Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Refrain: And when the battle’s over we shall wear a crown! Yes, we shall wear a crown! Yes, we shall wear a crown! And when the battle’s over we shall wear a crown In the new Jerusalem. Wear a crown, (wear a crown,) Wear a crown, (wear a crown,) Wear a bright and shining Crown; And when the battle is over, we shall wear a crown In the new Jerusalem.

2. Must I be carried to the skies, On flowery beds of ease, While others fought to win the prize, And sailed through bloody seas?

1. Am I a soldier of the cross, A follower of the Lamb, And shall I fear to own His cause, Or blush to speak His name?

3. Are there no foes for me to face? Must I not stem the flood? Is this vile world a friend to grace, To help me on to God? 4. Sure I must fight if I would reign; Increase my courage, Lord; I’ll bear the toil, endure the pain, Supported by the word.
