A native of Atlanta, Judge Patricia Barron has called Athens her home for over 20 years. In February 2001, she was sworn in as Associate Magistrate Court Judge in Athens-Clarke County. An active member of Greater Bethel Judge Barron chairs the Taylor Scholarship Committee.

Brother Manzy was the chairman of the highly successful Men’s Day Worship Service in June. He is also a leader in the Love and Serve Group, sponsor of the August 13th Super Saturday Fun Field Day.

The Honorable Kelly Girtz Mayor, Athens – Clark County
A formal teacher and administrator with the Clarke County School District, Kelly Girtz was elected Mayor in 2018 and reelected in 2022. During his terms the mayor has championed affordable housing, 100% renewable energy and support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

The Reverend Doctor Toni Belin Ingram Presiding Elder Augusta North District The Reverend Doctor Toni Belin Ingram is the Presiding Elder of the Augusta North District. Prior to her appointment as Elder, Rev. Dr. Belin Ingram pastored Greater Smith Chapel and Greater Turner Chapel AME Churches where significant capital improvements were made under her leadership.
Today the Assistant Professor Emerita of the School of Social Work at the University of Georgia continues to lend her marvelous voice to our choir and her expertise as we worship the Lord in the community that she and John loves.

Nearly four decades ago Dr. Katheryn B. Davis and her late husband John joined Greater Bethel. Since that time the couple have been involved in every aspect of the church.
The Reverend Marben Bland was appointed the 37th Pastor of Greater Bethel by Bishop Reginald T. Jackson on June 3, 2022. Presiding Elder Toni Belin Ingram presented the Pastor to the congregation on June 5th, the first Sunday of his new charge.

A student of the Word of God Pastor Marben earned a Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary in addition to a a master’s degree in Public Administration from Georgia College and State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University.
Pastor Marben served as an officer in the United States Army and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. For three decades, he worked in senior leadership positions for some of the best companies in the world including Sara Lee Corporation, Fiskars Brands, and Advanced Micro Devices.
