Preface The world is changing fast. Digital photography and internet social media services like Facebook and Twitter have made photography accessible to a mass market. We‘re flooded with new photographs every second and have almost no time to enjoy them as we could miss the next set of pictures as they appear on Facebook.

We‘re glad to be able to hold ourselves apart from the mainstream. Our work is driven by experimentation with each aspect of the composition of a picture. This is risky as you never know exactly what the result will be; but always doing the same thing is the death of creativity! So we would like to thank all the people who have helped to visualize our ideas and who believe in our way. Please enjoy this second issue full of realized dreams.

We don‘t want to catch up with this pace. Even Facebook or any other social media services aren‘t able to accelerate the process of finding extraordinary ideas. It takes time to elaborate all the tiny details that are so important in telling a story which is the meaning of photography.

The retro story, „Heartbreak Hotel“, had been in my head for a long time before I finally found the right team and location to realize it. We shot it in the beautiful hotel „Helvetia“ in Zurich. The „Helvetia“ has this warm atmosphere and is full of little details which help to build the sad story of a lady waiting for her lover, who will never appear. Model Laura Joséphine Gütt, not only looked like Marilyn Monroe in this shoot,

but she has also a great sense for acting and played the role with elegance and sensitivity. Makeup- and hairstylist Jacqueline Penza was responsible for getting her ready for these beautiful shots. „Heartbreak Hotel“ was the first complete editorial shot with a camera that was never intended for fashion photography. It was very risky to use the manual controlled Leica M9 camera in conjunction with the legendary Noctilux lens for a full 12

editorial production in just one day. But the result was breathtaking and it even found the attention of LFI Leica Fotografie International, the Magazine of the most famous camera and lens producer of the World. They featured this editorial alongside an interview with me in issue 3/2012.

I shot the editorial „Dream a Little Dream“ in my mother‘s garden. It is such a beautiful place and tended by her with passion. The old bed in the picture above is my grandmother‘s. We had to break it apart and reassemble it to get it from the attic to the garden...
