CROCHET To the needles;

Take the thread of your crochet yarn, coming from the right, in your left hand and pull it over your index finger. To fix it in place; wrap it once around your index finger and hold it with the other fingers. Hold the short end of the thread between thumb and middle finger. Form a loop, with the end of the thread facing up. The needle is fed through the loop to form another loop. This is how you get the first chain stitch. Repeat this process until you have as many chain stitches as you need.

This brings us to the slip stitch. In order to get a slip stitch you transfix from the front through a loop of the first row, pull the thread on through the loop of the crochet needle, that’s all.

KNITTING A cool move! With the right motivation, lovely wool, and knitting needles, and passion you already have the right foundation for the first and unique knitting piece “made by me”. To start with an feasible project a scarf just made of knit stitches will be ideal, with more practical experience you you can venture patterns, colour changes or beanies. For beginners knit stitches are the best way to start. Giving a fashionable wave look and easy to knit, this loop is already an eye-chatcher. Combined with the next level, purl stitches, it takes you to a higher level. First of all you have to cast on stitches. This sounds cruel, but it doesn’t hurt at all. Measure the quantity required. Then put the yarn over your left index finger twice from front to back, wrap the remaining yarn over your left thumb and hold it. Feed the needle from the bottom up through the thumb loop. Take the yarn from the index finger and pull it through the thumb loop again. Take your thumb out of the loop to form another stitch. Pick up another stitch and repeat this process until you have as many stitches as you need. Now you can start knitting as such. Knit stitch: The yarn is behind the knitting piece. Put the right needle through the stitch on the left needle. Take the yarn, pull it through the stitch and let it slide off the left needle. Purl stitch: The yarn is always in front of the knitting piece. Insert the right needle from right to left. Pull the yarn from front to back around the right needle and through the stitch.
