Nationally renowned textile aficianado Marcie Bronkar brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her collections. Her diverse and acclaimed pedigree in the fashion and home design industries has come full circle with delicious patterns and vibrant colors that truly offer a new and exciting source for today’s most discerning designer. Marcie has layered her signature modern glamour over every facet of her collections providing couture quality craftsmanship and premier service to coveted design clientele. Her line Home Couture is currently offered to the trade at Quadrille showrooms nationwide. her new line, Cloth & Paper, is currently offered to the trade in Donghia and De Sousa Hughes showrooms throughout the country.
ABOUT MARCIE BRONKAR...... Marcie’s journey began with her attendance at nationally renowned art schools, Rhode Island School of Design and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, which led to an internship with Angelo Donghia. Marcie then worked alongside curators at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum, Textile Museum in Washington D.C. and Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, where she designed fabric collections for high end convertors in the US and Europe including P.Hauffman and Marvic Textiles in the UK. Marcie is a member of the Decorative Fabrics Association, Foundation for Design Integrity, ACT and an ASID Allied member. Among her extensive industry background, Ms. Bronkar served as exclusive design consultant for Paloma Picasso’s landmark home furnishings collections for upscale US and European department stores in the 1990’s. She then helped pioneer the home furnishings industry’s first licensed designer-name bedding collection for Perry Ellis which resulted in record sales for West Point/Stevens. Following that success, she led the Bill Blass bedding brand to the #1 slot at retail for Spring Industries. Under the name “Marcie Bronkar” several successful collections were licensed and marketed for wallpaper books, decorative fabrics, bed ensembles and fine china prior to her groundbreaking launch of the Home Couture Brand. In 1992, Marcie became the Founder and Creative Director of Home Couture, known as “cloths of studied simplicity”. These luxurious fabrics have been featured in numerous high end shelter and lifestyle publications including World of Interiors, Architectural Digest, Metropolitan Home, Elle Decor, Veranda, and House and Garden. In 2009, Marcie launched her new line, Cloth & Paper, which has been received with wide acclaim. Her fabrics and wallpapers have already been featured in Shelter, Interiors, Luxe Interiors + Design, Veranda and Interior Design Magazine. Ms. Bronkar’s textile designs are part of the permanent collection at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in NYC. She is also the recipient of the highest design industry honors such as the Cody Award and the Cotton Inc. International Award. Marcie currently sits on the Board of several design focus groups in the US and Europe and is a lifetime member of the Art Students League of New York. Her past television appearances include a segment on HGTV and HBTV Homes Across America. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son and travels extensively to the East Coast and abroad.
