Italian Trade Commission The Italian Trade Commission is the Italian government agency entrusted with the mission to facilitate contacts between Italian companies and the rest of the world. In the United States our objective is to expand relations between Italian and American companies and to develop trade between Italy and the US. To attain this goal, we provide information, assist companies in selecting sectors and partners, promote products through exhibitions, trade shows, seminars, trade delegations, tastings and media campaigns both in Italy and the US. AIMPES Since 1966 AIMPES - Italian Leather Manufacturers Association – has been representing enterprises operating in the leather sector. As part of its institutional actions and in accordance with its mission, it represents, protects and assists members from political-economical, trade union, legal and taxation aspects. AIMPES is part of Confindustria Moda, together with the other Accessories Associations: Assocalzaturifici (shoes), ANFAO (optics), AIP (fur), FEDERORAFI (jewelry), SMI (industry federation texile) and UNIC (tanning industry). AIMPES, as the National Reference Association for leathergood sector, works on the National Work Collective Contract for Industrial Enterprises. It promotes a culture of enterprise and market by supporting the internationalization and the organization of trade shows in Italy and abroad. Provides information and advice on trade union, social security, taxation, labor, commercial and economic issues for proper management of the company and staff. Defends Made in Italy in Italy and worldwide. Provides periodic guidance on fashion trends in the industry.
AIMPES has recently undertaken an extensive program to revive the national and international level, including the agreement with Confindustria Florence and the opening of a representative office in the Tuscan capital. Such project is the first step in the process of rooting in the area with the aim of offering services increasingly integrated with regional and territorial institutions. On the international level, during 2017 AIMPES joined the European Federation of Leather Associations: ELGA (European Alliance for the Leather Goods Industry) as a constituent partner. ELGA represents the leathergoods sector in front of the European bodies with the purpose of protecting the interests of the sector at the EU institutions and the Commission. AIMPES also organises MIPEL, the international leather goods and fashion accessories show. Held every six months at FieraMilano-Rho, Milan, MIPEL covers an exhibition area of 10,000 sqm, hosts more than 300 brands and is visited by approximately 24,000 people every year. Assocalzaturifici Founded in 1945, Assocalzaturifici represents Italian footwear manufacturers. The Association currently groups together 600 footwear firms located throughout Italy, and represents a sector that employs almost 77,000 people, has a turnover of about 14.2 billion euro yearly and exports 85% of its production.
Assocalzaturifici promotes Italianshoes.com, a fashion and lifestyle magazine that aims to recount and valorise Made-in-Italy labelling as part of the cultural heritage of the footwear industry, to make footwear fans and those working in the sector aware of the added value represented by an accessory “made-in-Italy, with its unique combination of expertise and creativity.
Assocalzaturifici organizes the world’s most important footwear trade fairs: MICAM Milano, Obuv’ Mir Kožhi in Moscow, Moda Made in Italy in Munich and organizes various workshops and trade missions to explore new markets in collaboration with ITA, Italian Trade Agency.

It collaborates with leading national and international trade-fair organizations to ensure the best operating conditions for its member companies within the ambit of fair organization and other internationalization initiatives. Assocalzaturifici promotes research, projects, debates and seminars aimed at learning about and developing new technological, economic and cultural aspects that may further the growth of member companies. Assocalzaturifici is the exclusive bargaining agent responsible for negotiating and stipulating the National Collective Agreement with tradeunions.
