Programme overview

VinaCapital Group is the leading asset management, investment banking and real estate consulting firm in Vietnam. Our brand name is one of the most recognised in the country. Our brand is more than a logo or company name. The VinaCapital Group brand is a combination of results and reputation that creates trust and confidence in our company among investors overseas and our partners and the public at large in Vietnam. This trust and confidence is crucial to the success of our company. Given that our brand is so important, these VinaCapital brand identity guidelines are a valuable tool to help build and maintain the reputation of our company. These guidelines set out the precise means to graphically display the VinaCapital shield and name (ie. the company logo), the names of our funds, and the colours and visual elements appropriate for all company material, whether printed or digital.

The Programme was created to achieve the following objectives: • Create an accurate perception of the company and to broaden awareness of the diversity of VinaCapital Group. • Maintain and further strengthen the Company’s reputation, particularly the image of innovation, dynamism and reliability. • Unify the Company’s identity through an easy-tounderstand and easy-to-apply system of identity standards.

What is the VinaCapital Group Identity Programme?

The largest of values originate from the smallest of details. The VinaCapital Group Identity Programme describes all the details needed to maintain our brand. The Programme includes three parts: naming standards, graphic standards, and application standards. The fundamental principle of the Programme is the consistent and correct implementation of the standards.

Naming standards This section provides guidelines on the accurate use of the names of our master brand, sub-brands and cobrands. The goal is to ensure our names are accurately and easily understood. Graphic standards These detailed visual standards will unify the presentation of our brand and help to improve the perception of the Company. Application standards The final part of the Programme details the correct use of the naming and graphic standards for all types of media.

Who is included in the VinaCapital Group Identity Programme?

If you use the name “VinaCapital” to identify or promote your product, service, department, operation or project, in any way, then the VinaCapital Identity Programme applies to you.

If you use the name “VinaCapital” to identify or promote your product, service, organisational division, or project – whether internal or external to the Company – then the VinaCapital Group Identity Programme standards and guidelines apply to all your communications, from letterheads and business cards to advertising, promotional materials, and signs.

The VinaCapital Group Identity Programme standards do not apply to you if you make no reference to the name “VinaCapital” in your product, service, organisational division, or project.

The VinaCapital Group Identity Programme provides standards and guidelines controlling the use of the name “VinaCapital” and the monogram (shield) in all media.

• In copy (such as in the body of letters) and conversation (such as in sales presentations), use the correct communicative names for VinaCapital, its components and affiliates.

Everyone with responsibility for creating, purchasing, or managing communications for the Company and its operating units and affiliates – both VinaCapital employees and their authorised suppliers – should carefully review and apply the principles and standards contained in the VinaCapital Group Identity Programme documents.

However, as the VinaCapital identity is trademarked, the following still apply as obligations in support of the VinaCapital Group Identity Programme:

VinaCapital brand architecture Sub-brand, Co-brand and product lines

1. Sub-brands When a new company belonging to VinaCapital Group is established, its name will be composed of the prefix “Vina” followed by the subject indicating the type of company. There is no space between the prefix and subject. The subject begins with a capital letter. Future sub-brands that have external/retail clients may use the shield (to be determined later). Examples: VinaBank, VinaMoney. Current sub-brands do not have external clients and therefore do not use the shield. These companies exist as consultants/services to VinaCapital Group and the funds. They begin with “VinaCapital” followed by subject indicating their area of work.

2. Co-brands When a new legal entity is established that allies VinaCapital with another enterprise, the co-brand should follow these principles: VinaCapital > 50 percent stake Co-brand should be VinaCapital + partner brand name. Partner > 50 percent stake Co-brand should be Partner brand name + VinaCapital.

3. Product lines Fund names should begin with “VinaCapital” and will normally begin “VinaCapital Vietnam” (plus sector or fund type) for any funds focused on investment in Vietnam. Examples: VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited, VinaCapital Vietnam Fixed Income Fund

There will be exceptions: DFJ VinaCapital L.P. (VinaCapital majority-owned), follows the pattern of all Draper Fisher Jurvetson partnerships – it begins with “DFJ” given the global recognition of this venture capital brand.

Examples: VinaCapital Real Estate Ltd, VinaCapital Investment Management Ltd.

Group signature arrangement

The basic signature arrangements are used throughout the VinaCapital Group Brand Identity Programme applications: Preeminence of the Group signature In each arrangement, the Group signature (shield plus logo typography) is elevated above and usually to the left of other elements. This is a position of prominence that results in immediate recognition of the arrangement as a VinaCapital product, representing high quality and reliability. Asymmetry In contrast to the static balance of the symmetrical arrangements used in the VinaCapital Signature, the signature is arranged with the other design elements in a visually active, asymmetrical balance, communicating a sense of the activity and dynamism that typifies the Company today.

Spaciousness Generous amounts of space separate and surround the signature elements to communicate a sense of openness and clarity. A unique feature of all signature arrangements is that the spaces between the signature elements, as shown in the construction drawings, are defined with minimum spaces. In constructing a signature, these spaces may be increased to a certain degree. This feature permits and encourages the alignment of signature elements with other elements required in a specific format, thereby joining all elements in a unified whole. Equally important, this feature enhances the communication of the attributes of openness and accessibility. In other words, the VinaCapital Group Signature has a minimum and maximum size, but enough variation between the two to leave space for creative design and adaptation.

Signature colour specifications

Of all visual elements, colour is the most relative. It changes – or appears to change – in relation to factors such as: • Reproduction materials and methods. On a computer screen, colour is reproduced by mixing three colours of light (red-green-blue or RGB); • In four-colour process printing, colour is reproduced by printing in succession varying amounts of four pigmented inks (CMYK); • In match-colour printing, ink is custom mixed to precisely match a sample;

As a result of the different materials and methods used to reproduce colour, the “same” colour appears different when reproduced by different methods. Not all colours can be reproduced in all methods, and some colours are unique to some methods. For example, metallic and fluorescent colours can neither be displayed on a video monitor nor printed using four colour process. Such colours must be custom mixed using special pigments and reproduced using traditional techniques such as letterpress, offset lithography, and screen printing.

Incorrect logo usage

Any variation from the examples covered in this style guide are incorrect and should not be used. The following are some examples of incorrect modifications and applications of the corporate trademark. 1. Never move, delete, or rearrange any elements of the corporate signature from their respective positions. 2. The VinaCapital signature is not rotated under any circumstances. 3. Any distortion of proportions (height or width) of the corporate signature is incorrect. 4. Never stack, overlap, or graduate the corporate signature. 5. Never add any text or graphic element to the corporate signature. 6. Never place the corporate signature over a photograph or any textured background. 7. Never place the colour corporate signature over any other solid- or multi-coloured background. 8. Never modify the corporate signature. 9. Never use any computer effect with the corporate signature.

When displaying the signature in any context, make sure that it is surrounded on all sides by an area which is clear of any distracting graphic elements, such as copy, photography, or background patterns. The purpose of this “clear zone” is to preserve the signature’s integrity and impact in any and all applications. The minimum clear zone is equal to the height of the VinaCapital symbol.

Application colour palette The secondary colour palette can be used to differentiate and add appeal. It consists of two related sets of colours – one muted, one bright. Typical applications include charts, graphs, literature, presentations and packaging. The colours also are specifically used as the backgrounds for our distinctive illustration style.

Application colour specifications

To secure the consistency and prominence for tables and charts in the literature, colour using should abide by the following principles: 1. One colour chart: use gray colour 2. Two colour chart: use gray and red colour 3. Three colour chart: use gray, red and black colour. 4. In case a chart requires more than three colours, besides the three specific colours mentioned above, other colours in the secondary colour palette will be used.

Typography (for English version only)

The typeface, or font, used by VinaCapital is Calibri. Calibri is a modern, clear, simple, sansserif typeface which can be used for headings, captions, tables, charts and large blocks of continuous text. Calibri should always be specified when work is commissioned from an internal or external design source. The Calibri font must only be used for printed material such as: • Stationery • Literature • Powerpoint Presentations • Packaging For electronic media, such as pdf pages, the font must be embedded. A Mac version of Calibri is available for external design sources using Mac computers.

Typography for day-to-day communications (and Vietnamese version)

Arial should be used by employees for day-to-day communications in Vietnamese such as: • Emails • Daily reports, weekly reports, investment proposals, business plans, and so on. • All documents printed in Vietnamese. To complete typeface designations, Times New Roman may be used as a secondary font. This is a classic, simple, serif typeface, which can be used for headings.

Photography style

Graphic system

The corporate photography style is reportage – capturing people and moments in candid, real-life situations, rather than forced, posed or abstract imagery. The main principles are: • Our photographs feature real people that you can relate to, not fashion models. • Use natural colour – no filters or colour cast light effects, no black-and-white in colour documents. • Believable situations – the world we encounter day-to-day, not in a photography studio. People Photos should be simple and direct. There should be eye contact where possible, to convey honesty, trust, confidence and integrity. Subjects should look natural. Do not: • Stretch photos or images. • Use images from the Internet.

Important note: Proper usage rights or copyright must be obtained. VinaCapital must have the right to use all photos reproduced in printed or digital materials.

General shots Creating general shots usually will involve photographing VinaCapital Group offices and employees. In keeping with our reportage style, the photographer should capture images in an unobtrusive, “fly on the wall” manner.

Specific shots There will be times when a specific message needs to be communicated in a photograph. This may involve using a particular location, hiring models and getting them to act in a certain way. Within this situation, it is very important to create a sense of naturalness and to avoid clichéd poses or effects.
