MARCO PISTAMIGLIO shoes & leather goods Designer

The work experience in Athison allowed me to improvemy knowledge about textile materials. This collection is conceived through the creation of a jaquard fabric produced internally in the company made of waxed cotton and rayon.

1.056 cotton threads tied one by one make up the base of a unique and inimitable woven material. Cotton is waxed, rayon is the second material that makes up the mat and has the task of giving this accessory the “shiny component.

The zipper on the back provides direct access to the backpack, ensuring practicality and safety.

The collection has a clear reference to the Japanese world, inspired by the stitched fabrics of kimonos and their shapes, the search for clean and sophisticated lines in combination with their rigorous and at the same time delicate proportion.

During my work experience, I had the opportunity to developed creative designs by hand or PC in line with the task received. Thanks to the complexity of use of this kind of fabric, I got to approach the design of the models in the most appropriate way.

This experience allowed me to try my hand in the field of modeling, creating patterns and understanding the solutions to better structure a product and make it faster in its production processes without losing the refinement of shapes and interesting/new lines.

IED project of thesis in collaboration with Buscemi, brand of sneakers and accessories of American origin. This backpack has been designed and made with the desire to understand and interpret the DNA of the company, obtaining an urban product and streetwear with details taken from the world of trekking.

RUINS

Shoulder bag in soft goatskin. The surface has some natural scratches, this gives it a lived and deliberately decadent appearance. Indelible scars that taht characterize the object, the will is to work on the “waste”, trying to turn it into a work that tells a story. Winner of the 5rd place of the competition annunced by FpFashionStudio “Nw shape to industrial waste” and exhibited at Lineapelle.

The footbed is inspired by hand-woven braided Asian sandals, the same I wanted to propose with an innovative look, using the hand weave of soft leather to make the footbed and characterize this product in a modern way.

Derby shoe crafted according to the Goodyear technique and cut from hand-aged and hand-nuanced dark-brown leather. Meticulous edge stitching on the upper. has been carefully completed with a leather and rubber sole.

This collection is based on the use of embroidery. I created a slipper that could, although classic, look more modern as the design that characterizes it is inspired by today’s flyknit technology with a slight hint to the artistic current of abstractionism.

Sketch and photoshop

In Santoni I was in charge of the antiquing-veiling procedure: a technique of manual coloring of the shoe starting from a “crust (white) leather , that is painted creating gradients of color-shades.

I experimented an alternative technique, creating a silk-screened base on leather and then antiquate it, thus combining innovation with an artisan technique.
