Get The Rent Paid Many housing providers are owed almost a year's worth of unpaid rent from renters that before COVID were good renters that paid on time but due to COVID have not been able to stay current. One option is to wait until the eviction moratoriums are lifted and then evict the renter. But this will not get the lost rent paid. Leaves the rent with an eviction on their record and a huge judgment that they may never be able to recover from. And it leaves the housing provider with huge losses. The better option is for the renter and for the housing provider is to work together to apply for rental assistance. How do I prove that I need Rental Assistance? Many of the rental assistance programs require some sort of notice that the renter is in need of assistance because they are behind on rent. In the past, housing providers would give a renter notice that they need to pay or quit that is a form that is given to start the process toward eviction. Many housing providers have great renters and are working with them to help them find a way to bring their rent current and to keep them in their homes by using a rental assistance program. Housing providers can use the next two forms, one for Kansas and one for Missouri to document delinquent rent. These forms were created by attorney Julie Anderson from Anderson and Associates.
