In the past few years the development above Interstate 395 has become a topic of growth. In the 1980’s the city did not have enough money to develop this area and left it as an open air space. This design is one part of the construction in this corridor. In accordance with the Parking Deck Site, the Cobb Park Site will be a mixed-use building.

FOURTH FLOOR

TYPICAL FLOOR LEVEL

Located as the previous kosher meat distributor in the 1930s, this site is home to a historic polychrome signage panel. The intention of this design is to restore the panel back to its original color and signage along with a set back to the second and third floor to emphasize its historic significance to it site. The ground level will remain pedestrian accessible, in accordance with the original design and surrounding buildings.

SITE PLAN

Every two floors of this luxury residential will be twisted and angled to create a dynamic motion ascending up the tower of mainly metal cladding. This will promote an iconic yet contrasting building compared to the surrounding site, similar to the designs of buildings such as the Hearst Tower in New York.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS CENTER

The Human Traffic Research Awareness Center, located on Michigan Ave NE is the perfect spot since in the 1860s the first slaves in the nation were first released here. The intention of this design is meant to address the heaviness of the issue at the base of the building, to propose a solution at the core, and to provide light to the resolution its highest point all while interlocking all three.
