LET’S FLAMINGLE

Spotlight Event of the

Month

Created by Alicia Allen of Le Mirage • This themed event provides a wide assortment of decor, pool toys/floats, and other activity options. Host this event as a pool party, mocktail hour, or food related gathering. • Basic Supplies needed: Decor, food, or themed outfits. • A weekend event is ideal for outdoor activity. Simple food related events can be done any evening.

• Cost: Decor, snacks, prizes, and beverages: Approx. $150 to $250. Use Oriental trading for decor or bulk purchases.

Any reason is a good reason for an outdoor party Generate curiousity by getting decor spread throughout the community. Decorations are essential to fully create the ambiance desired for this event. Purchase pool toys that can be reused throughout the summer. Reuse leftover lemonade to make colorful drinks everyone can enjoy.

FOOD TRUCKS

• This can be a self sustaining outdoor event and easily repeatable. Book your trucks for more than one date or at multiple communities. • Basic Supplies needed: Promotional materials and possibly raffle tickets. • Any weekday evening or weekend lunch time schedule works best.

• Approximate Costs: Free to $700 dependent on booking minimums/fees

Food Trucks are convenient, fun, and delicious. Working with Food Trucks may be the easiest events to provide. Save on minimums, but making minor contributions to put more residents in front of them. Schedule multiple dates and communities to avoid booking fees. Expect potential cancellations. Contact Joeg@weidner.com for assistance.

• This event can be hosted as a single gathering, a grab and go function, or parade style event. • Basic Supplies needed: Ice Cream Sandwiches, or cookies and Ice Cream. • Hosting during a weekend mid day will boost participation but can host at any time. • Cost of supplies - $1 per serving. Hand made adds to the fun!

Store bought sandwiches will work just fine but take it to another level by simply providing the ingredients. Cookies, Ice Cream, and a few toppings will take this event to the next level. They’re also pretty fun to make. A guaranteed hit with residents!

• Keep the ingredients on hand for residents to do on their own, or set up a special in person gathering. This is an ideal outdoor gathering requiring little set up and maintenance. • Basic Supplies needed: Skewers, Chocolate, Graham Crackers, and Marshmallows. • a late afternoon/evening weekday event or mid day weekend date will generate the most attendees.

• Estimated cost: $1 per serving. Partner with a sister community and save money.

Easy, fun, and delicious! All you need is supplies and a place to cook the marshmallows. Communities can use fireplaces, grills, or create make shift burners. Contact Joeg@weidner.com for assistance planning and ensuring resident safety.

• Purchase pizzas and give out slices for a great in person gathering. Partner with a local establishment for special sales or discount days. • Basic Supplies needed: Pizza and plates • A great weekday evening event. Schedule monthly as an easy to repeat activity • Estimated costs: Free w/ Partnerships, or up to $1 per serving. Click Here to Download

There’s no such thing as bad pizza! Setting up a regular discounted delivery day, or monthly set up is the most effective way to host these. When purchasing pizzas always ask for slices to be double cut, and ALWAYS serve your residents. This will not only help control supplies, but also gives our residents an opportunity to thank you.

• Set up a weekly, or special day for residents to post appropriate jokes on our bulletin board, or issue a silly photo contest. • Basic Supplies needed: prizes and promotions • Pick a day, host weekly, or all month long. Content generators are very flexible but the longer you allow for submissions the more conent you’ll receive.

• Cost for Event: Free to host. Prizes issued for any contests would be the only cost associated.

Life is better when we smile! Post a weekly joke on your bulletin board, or include them in your regular communications to residents. A themed photo contest is easy to jump start by posting a fun image of your own.

• This event is easily repeated every month and should help identify some co-creators. Host these events in person or make games available to residents regularly. • Basic Supplies needed: Board and card games • Hosting during a weekday evening will generate the most participation.

• Cost of supplies - Initial cost is approx $100 to $200 to purchase games. Replacement costs are minimal therafter.

If you build it, they will come... This is a great event to host monthly, and consistently. Be sure to carefully put the games away when finished to extend durability of your games. Find interactive games to encourage residents to meet one another. Provide a few light snacks to keep everyone comfortable.

• Schedule a weekly or monthly hiking excursion. Even a simple stroll around the community can be enjoyable. Coordinate an off-site meeting place and rotate locations regularly. • Supplies needed: Water, and potential transportation. • A weekend early morning gathering time is ideal.

Nature is good for the soul! This is a great excuse to get out and enjoy some fresh air each month, or each week. Residents will appreciate a little company and inspiration to go out and enjoy nature. This is a great event to find a Cocreator to take the lead.

• This is a great content generator by asking residents to share recent acts of kindness. Coordinate a charitable activity with a local organization to create a one day event or charity drive. • Supplies needed: Donations and opportunities. • Reach out to residents to identify potential charitable partners. • Cost of supplies - No cost other than donations for charitable partners.

This is a great opportunity to identify an annual charitable effort, or develop a signature event based on your partnership. Think WeidnerCares but on a small local scale. Even something as simple as a photo contest should help inspire residents to perform a good deed.

• Every Pet Friendly Community should have a Pet of the Month. Collect pet details quarterly. Choose at random • Event Supplies: pet treats, prizes, or discounts established with local pet groomers, food suppliers, dog walkers, • People LOVE their pets and love showering them with treats.
