Spotlight Event of the
Month
• A great way to get residents involved in the plan. coordinate a theme and invite residents and kids to participate. Set up outdoor activities and refreshments. Trick out your maintenance carts as a pace car! • Basic Supplies needed: Decor and themed outfits. • Select a gathering space and route. A short mid day weekend time schedule is ideal. Everyone Loves a good parade! Use July 4th or Canada Day are ideal themes to get people out and about. The idea is just a simple stroll thru the community but a good theme will make your event! Sparklers and streamers are a great decor option. But more importantly, just have some fun.

• An outdoor activity is ideal. A BBQ or themed outdoor gathering is a great way to welcome summer. Lawn games and cool refreshments complete this simple event. • Basic Supplies needed: Themed decor, food, and refreshments. Outdoor lawn games are ideal! • A 2 to 3 hour weekend event is ideal. Utilize your pool facilities or parking lot for a barbecue.

• Approximate Costs: BBQ food cost $150/60 attendees. Side snacks/beverages $100/60 attendees. Themed decor $60
Start your summer off right! Make use of any outdoor space you have weather permitting. Grilling food in person adds a layer of appreciation. Pay attention to your refreshments and be sure to mingle! This may be a lot of work but don’t forget it’s your chance to build that resident rapport!

• Super easy event to repeat regularly during the summer. Pick Saturdays, or designate a special day to distribute frozen treats to residents. A weekly 30 min. activity will help with the summer heat. Take a stroll thru the community or set up by the pool • Basic Supplies needed: Popsicles and a cooler. • A regular summertime schedule is ideal. Choose a specific day and time, or whenever your outdoor areas are busy. An impromptu distribution is a fun way to break up your day. Click Here to Download

• Cost of Food - $10 per 100 popsicles. Cooler $50 (Reusable for future events!!)
Provide an assortment of options or stick with a specific style throughout the summer. Trying to build resident rapport? Then keep these in the office for residents to stop by and grab one at any time. A very easy way to stay connected to the community.

• There are never too many frozen treat options. An Ice Cream Social will definitely bring people together. The secret to success....TOPPINGS! • Basic Supplies needed: Ice Cream, serveware, and a wide variety of toppings. • a late afternoon/evening weekday event or mid day weekend date will generate the most attendees. • Variable cost: $200 will provide you with a good assortment of ice cream and topping options. We all scream for Ice Cream. I’ve never heard anyone say they didn’t like Ice Cream unless they were lactose intolerant, so be sure to have a sherbert as an alternative option. You’ll easily make your residents day! Contact Joeg@weidner.com for your best set up and purchasing options.

• Of course a summer treat should involve something cold. Ice Cream Float day is another easy excuse to bring people together. Serve these up and just absorb the appreciation thrown your way. • Basic Supplies needed: Ice Cream, Sodas, and a few toppings like syrups, whip cream, and cherries. • A great weekday evening or weekend event.

• Cost per 50 people - $120 for Ice cream, whipped cream, syrups, fruit toppings, and serveware.
Refreshing and delicious! You can keep it simple with just the ice cream and sodas, by just adding fun straws. You can go more elaborate with fun toppings to be included. But big cups, a big scooper, and a big smile will make this event a big success!

• Find your Co-Creator kids to man the stand and watch the residents go nuts. Lemonade is a perfect drink in the summer to cool things down. Set up a serving table, provide the supplies, and let the kids do work! Have kids? bring em along to help and make it a family affair. • Basic Supplies needed: Serving containers, cups, and lemonade. • You can do this weekly or pick a weekend to set up the stand. Alternate shifts so more kids can work the event. Click Here to Download
• Cost for Lemonade stand: $50 to $100 depending on frequency and serving containers needed.
Lemonade....That cool refreshing drink! Setting up a nice display for a simple grab and go will work well, but letting the kids of your community work the stand is another level! Give them away for free of partner with a local charity for donations. A sign making party is an add-on to make this a co-creator friendly activity!

• Celebrate our armed forces service members with this a fun donation drive, or a Thank You card drop box. Host an in person event celebrating our service members allowing residents to send thank you notes. • Basic Supplies needed: thank you cards, post its, or decorations. • This can be done at any time in honor of our military service members. • Cost - Minimal. Cost for supplies and decor shouldn’t exceed $40. Make an official event by adding food and beverages.

• This event will draw a crowd to your pool area. Book a screen rental provider and just provide refreshments. Kid friendly movies are ideal. • Supplies needed: Refreshments, and a local entertainment provider. • This is a good Friday Night or weekend activity.

• Cost for rental services may vary, but typically a movie night thru an entertainment provider will cost $300 to $500.
A poolside movie is a unique experience! This is an excellent experience to provide residents. Especially since a local provider does most of the work. • A pet event is always a hit. Set up dog toys, a doggie splash pad, mini pool, or good ol fashioned sprinkler and let the pets play. • Supplies needed: Dog toys, treats, and access to water. • Set up as a yappy hour event for residents to bring their pets to a designated area.

• Cost - $30 worth of treats and toys. Doggie splash pad is $30-$50.
This event should be a regular staple at every community. From simple grab and go’s to more elaborate activities, any pet event is a successful event. Always keep our four legged residents in mind each month.

• Every Pet Friendly Community should have a Pet of the Month. Collect pet details quarterly. Choose at random • Event Supplies: pet treats, prizes, or discounts established with local pet groomers, food suppliers, dog walkers, • People LOVE their pets and love showering them with treats.
