• Work with local vendors to set up massages, nail services, make up, etc. Create a Mother’s Day card station or provide a variety of flowers, chocolates, or gifts to give away.

• Basic Supplies needed: Discount Coupons to local businesses. A greab and go will include cards, flowers, candy or gifts.

• Host as an allday event or set up a sharing table a few day beforehand.

• Cost dependent on style of event. Give awaytables can cost $150-$250 with gifts.

Let’s celebrate the Mother’s in our communites!

Residents will express their appreciatiopn when a nice assortment of ideas is provided. The convenience of Mother’s Day cards and small gifts on hand will entice residents to granb and go. Take it a step further and make the mothers of the property special gift baskets!

• Create an interavctive activity with a pinata or a simple grab and go candy station. Culturally appropriate decorations are essential to create the full experience

• Basic Supplies needed: Pre-filled Pinata’s or fill them yourself. Decorations (aAmazon or Oriental Trading) and an assortments of candies and toys

• Set up an exact time for the candy display on May 5th, early evenings are ideal.

• Approximate Cost: Pinata $25-$75, Candy, $65, toys, $80. Decorations as needed.

Take advantage of this holiday to celebrate Mexican culture. Identifying local ressources your commmunity may not be aware of and hilight relevant activities. Create a list of your favorite resturants and bars for the community to visit for the holiday

• Create a contest and let residents submit their recipes and blind judge to select a winner.

• Basic Supplies needed: Tortilla Chips, cheese, condiments and serving containers/ Raffle tickets and menu signs for each salsa (including ingredients for allergy awareness)

• A great event to tie in with Cinco De Mayo or any day of the month. Weekend afternoon or evening are ideal..

• Approximate cost: $50-$100 for chips, toppings, and serving supplies. Prizes for 1st thru 5th place are recommended or multiple categories sch as best, spiciest, most unique etc...

Help create a sense of ownership by letting your residents do most of the work! Set up a judging station, provide the chips and let the residents submit their best recipes! This is an easy annual tradition everyone can enjoy!

• A Luau is a traditional Hawaiian party or feast and is a perfect way to celebrate the warmer weather in our communities!

• Basic Supplies needed: Leis, a floral wreath necklace that serves as a symbol of love, friendship, celebration, honor, or greeting.

• Pick a date to distribute your Leis and include snacks, beverages and entertainment as you see fit! Post the event on doors, via email, or posting on your bulletin board. Any day or time works.

• Estimated cost: $20 to $30 per 50 people for Hawaiian Leis HERE.

Upgrade your Luau party with a quick selfie station! Set up the station near a location with a great view and include a few props to get your residents excited to participate. Use a fun hashtag and encourage residents to tag us on Instagram and Tiktok at @ weidnerapartmenthomes. You can find some affordable Selfie props HERE.

• Set up a scavenger hunt to find specially marked pennies/ coins throughout the property and officer prizes for the returned coins.

• Basic Supplies needed: Pennies (other coins may be substituted as you see fit), Stickers/Markers to label the special coins, Prizes for the found items.

• Any outdoor events are best for weekends. Weekday gatherings are best in the evening.

• Estimated costs: $10 to $20 prizes or gift cards from local businesses.

Consider placing the marked coins in strategic places throughout the property to encourage residents to visit the best locations your property has to offer. Residents may participate in groups, consider 1-2 group gifts as a back-up plan. Wine, snacks or community activities are all great group prize ideas.

• Gather residents together in a community space or outside using a projector to watch a popular film, musical or local documentary.

• Basic Supplies needed: Streaming service or DVD/Blue Ray player and connections.

• Weekdays or Weekend evenings work best.

• Cost for Event: FREE. You can upgrade your movie event by offering popcorn or other small snacks.

If your property does not have a space large enough to accommodate a community movie night, consider working with local internet providers or streaming services. This way you may advertise a single event but residents can participate at home or in small groups with friends.

• May 4th is a holiday celebrating the Force! Gather residents together to feel the magic of the 47 year old Sci-Fi franchise by hosting a viewing party.

• Basic Supplies needed: Streaming service or DVD/Blue Ray player and connections to play any, or a series, of your favorite Star Wars selections. Themed snacks and decor are great ways to upgrade your event.

• Estimated event cost - $25 to $40 per standard size cupcake from most local bakeries

Engage more residents from your community by including a costume contest or trivia challenge! Typically done May 4th, but you can choose any date to host an event.

• Every Pet Friendly Community should have a Pet of the Month. Collect pet details quarterly. Choose at random

• Event Supplies: pet treats, prizes, or discounts established with local pet groomers, food suppliers, and dog walkers,

• People LOVE their pets and love showering them with treats. You can set this up several months in advance.

• Activity Costs: FREE

Pet of the Month is the best and easiest activity you can maintain monthly. Take a day and create a sign up for a Pet Walking Meet Up at your local park! It’s a great way to connect your residents and encourage them to explore your neighborhood!
