Think cupcakes, snacks, halloween themed beverages, and themed table settings are all part of a perfect display. Using this holiday theme is a great way to bring people together and a costume contest is the perfect highlight. Remember to TAKE PICTURES!! • Not your traditional Trick or treat event. Use this event to set up a halloween themed gathering to include candy gift bags and a costume contest. Promote your prizes and display! • Basic Supplies needed: Prizes for costume contest, and halloween themed snacks. • Halloween or the weekend prior is ideal for this event. • Expected costs: Reusable decorations $100 to $150 Treat bags w/ candy $75 per 50 bags. Creating a great display for gift bags filled with treats. By asking residents to contribute they’ll be part of the event even if they do not attend. Kids and parents will greatly appreciate it.
TRICK OR TREAT 6

• Use a sticker or sign system for residents who want to participate in trick or treating. A good alternative is to set a date/time and ask residents to bring their treats to the office for distribution. Create fun gift bags for everyone to pick up. Supplies: Gift bags and candy treats. October 31st is ideal or the weekend prior. Costs: $100 for Candy and gift bags for 50 to 70 people. Provide an assortment of treats.

• Cost of supplies - $150 for snacks, candy, and goodie bags. Provide prizes to winners, costs will vary.
• Some communities lack the space to host in person gatherings and this is a great alternative. Set up a table with goodie bags and snacks so residents will have some treats while they decorate. Decorate a golf cart to make your own contribution.
• Basic Supplies needed: Snacks, candy treat bags, and decorations.
• Host this event during the weekend just before Halloween (29th or 30th)

Getting people out and about the community is a great way to create emotional ties. This activity allows you to highlight certain areas of the property. Purchasing reusable items from your list allows you to host another annual activity!
DOOR/PATIO DECORATING CONTEST Decorate your patio or front door for Halloween and win potential prizes! contact the leasing office for details. WIN PRIZES THRU OCTOBER 31, 2022 9 This event requires promotion, quality prizes, and encouragement. Residents will take the lead in this simple activity. Be sure to take pictures and share with residents. Put together a digital photo book to share with residents afterwards. Submit a zendesk ticket to Marketing > Resident Event Support for assistance planning. • Residents love decorating their homes. Host this competition and invite all residents to contribute as participants or judges. You’ll be amazed how creative our residents can be! • Basic Supplies needed: Decorations for leasing office and winning prizes. • This is a month long event with a specific date chosen for casting final votes. • Estimated costs: Decorations $100 to $200. • This is a great event to get residents active. Whether you set up a recipe, cooking, or decorating contest, this theme is a great annual activity. Use decorated pumpkins to display around the office. Basic Supplies needed: PUMPKINS!

• Cost for Event: Foam pumpkins can be ordered from Dollartree or oriental trading for $1.50 per pumpkin. For real pumkins shop locally. Costs will vary greatly.

HOT DOG DAY 11 Click Here to Download No matter what your amenity space is, this event is flexible to your community needs. There are a variety of cooking options to provide an opportunity to serve your residents. For assistance coordinating your events, submit a zendesk ticket to Marketing > Resident Event Support. • Weekends are for grilling. There’s no time of year where Hot Dog Day isn’t a good idea. This is a quick grab and go option or full gathering. Minimal prep time and decor required. • Basic Supplies needed: Hot Dogs, buns, beverages, toppings, and chips • a weekend lunch time event is ideal, but can also be hosted weekday evenings. • Estimated event cost - Chips, beverages, hot dogs, and buns $2 per serving 100 ways to cook a hot dog!
OKTOBERFEST 12 Utilize your lounge, tv rooms, theaters, or local estabishments to bring people together. With very little planning required, finding a venue that will provide the space and has food is the minimum requirement. Local business needs support and this is the perfect opportunity. • Host a themed gathering at your community or set up an off site event at a local restaurant or bar. Provide appetizers and snacks while playing a variety of games. • Supplies needed: Decorations, and themed snacks such as pretzels, bratwurst, and cheese dips. • A weekday late afternoon/early evening happy hour off site is best. • Cost of supplies: Cost will vary based on location. $100 to $200 for appetizers at a local establishment is **ALCOHOLideal. CHILI COOK-OFF 13 Click Here to Download Hosting an annual event creates anticipation and excitement for the right event. Invest in a plaque or trophy to be displayed with the winners name. Promote throughout the year to build anticipation. Vendors may be willing to sponsor and provide gifts! • Provide a few options for residents to test or host a “pot luck” style competition. Create an opportunity to taste test and submit a variety of recipes. • Supplies needed: Chili, tasting utensils, bowls, and a variety of toppings. • Best to host annually, and on a weekend or late weekday evening. • Cost of supplies: $50 to $100 for restaurant/store bought chili. Toppings $100, Serveware (tasting spoons, and bowls) $40. Traditions and Signature Events are important!
PET OF THE MONTH 14 Pet of the Month is the best and easiest activity you can maintain monthly. Take a day and find a local pet store, groomer, or pet service location and work out a promotional partnership.
