Spotlight Event of the
Month
Created by Kim Lillie (MN Region) • This annual event is an absolute hit with pet owners. provide pet toys and snacks and let the dogs play. If you do not have a pool or it isn’t seasonal, use plastic or inflatable kids pools as an alternative • Basic Supplies needed: pool, dog treats, dog toys, and snacks for the pet owners. • The last day your pool is open is perfect

• Cost: $100 for dog toys, snacks, and snacks for the pet owners. A plastic or inflatable dog pool is $50 to $150. Pools can be ordered HERE or splash pads HERE.
Water and dogs are a great pairing!
No matter if you have a pool or not, this is a very fun event to host. A host and water spicket can make for a great alternative. Invite local pet stores to participate. This can easily become your most talked about event by residents with just a little work. Submit a ticket to Marketing> Resident Event Support to set up a fun and easy event!

BACK TO SCHOOL

• By curating gift baskets full of school supplies or setting up a grab and go station, this display will show off your generosity. • Basic Supplies: contact your local school for a full supply list including, pencils, pens, paper, folders, etc. • A month long display is ideal, or set up a couple dates for parents and kids to come pick this up. • Approximate Costs: $100 to $250 dependent on need. Donate extras to local schools.
Parents and kids will both appreciate this! This annual tradition will definitely help parent residents out substantially. Saving them time and money in the interest of the children of the community is a great way to gain favor. You can even set this up as a donation program and then deliver these to your local school district.

• Establish strong relationships with local authorities, healthcare workers, teachers, or other vital members of our community. A special thank you to those who serve will help those members feel appreciated and show our residents we are part of a larger community. • Basic Supplies needed: Snacks, Thank you cards, and refreshments. • Any time will work, but ideally accomodate your residents who work in these professions to ensure they can attend. • Maintain a community library utilizing residents excess of books or magazines. This is a great time to set one up if you don’t have one already. Build off this activity by starting a resdent hosted book club. • Basic Supplies needed: collateral to promote and shelving. • Hosting a month long donation drive is ideal. Jump start the donations by grabbing a few books from local goodwill.

Reading is FUNdamental Outdoor book cases make for a great cummunity aesthetic and also serve a purpose. A book club is a great way to generate and maintain this library throughout the year. This also allows us to help residents declutter, Keep these for the property or donate to a local school or shelter.

• A great way to get residents to stop in for a visit without an issue to discuss. Purchase a variety of jars and candies and use those as the prizes themselves. • Basic Supplies needed: Jars, jelly beans, and candy. • Hosting this weekly will provide multiple winners and build continued excitement.

We all have some sort of sweet tooth! This event is a great way to generate conversations with residents that do not involve work orders or problems. It’s a great time to ask for reviews and build up online reputation. Keep extra candy to give away to participants. Don’t forget to smile!

• A pool party, outdoor gathering, bbq, or any traditional summertime activity is perfect for this theme. Be sure to have music, beverages, and a variety of outdoor games. • Basic Supplies needed: Food, beverage, and entertainment • Ideal as a weekend or Friday evening event.

Summer parties are the best! One last big hoorah outside will definitely generate interest. Use this event to generate traffic with a “bring a friend’ theme. Utilize your vendors to help sponsor entertainment and food. Plan well in advance to create a huge buzz and host your biggest non holiday event of the year!

• Hosting an in person brunch is a great way to kick off the fall. Beyond grab and go style pre-packaged items, catering or cookng breakfast items in bulk is fairly easy. • This is a great content generator by asking residents to share recent acts of kindness. Coordinate a charitable activity with a local organization to create a one day event or charity drive. A good alternative is random giveaways to show residents appreciation. • Supplies needed: Promotion and/or giveaway items • Reach out to residents to identify potential charitable partners. You don’t need a reason to do good! People always want to do more charitable works but don’t know where to start. Provide opportunities by reaching out to local nonprofits, shelters, or local autorities to identify areas of opportunity.
