Why should the public use a REALTOR ®
What a good question! After all, there is more data available to us today than ever before. We can find out everything about a property; the neighborhood, the schools, the taxes, we can even see the furniture in the backyard from a satellite! With all that information, a Realtor seems superfluous, and unnecessary to buy or sell. Right?
A Realtor can provide real knowledge, understanding and expertise of the local market which the buyer can’t get from raw data, or from the owner, who as a Seller, may have a vested interest in not telling the whole truth. The train whistles at 2 and 4 am... the neighbor’s dog that barks all day ... the internet doesn’t know these little things, nor could it find out. Now, as an Owner, the same things apply; just because you’velived there, just because the neighbor down the street sold his or her house for X$, does not mean your home is worth the same or more. A Realtor’s job is to know the market; and ...understand it, and the fact it changes daily.
