To obtain a local telephone number, you can only do so with a Residence Permit. Local mobile numbers can be obtained at any of Qatar's two service providers, Ooredoo or Vodafone Qatar. A new mobile sim card costs QAR50. The international dialling code for Qatar is +974. Local calls from private houses and businesses are free, but hotels charge a nominal fee for local calls made from the room. For international calls inquiry, call 150. Mobile Number Portability (MNP): Users are able to keep their existing mobile number when switching to another service provider.
