Product design Quitirrsí Artesanal Product For my bachelors’ graduation project I focused on the integration of product design with artisanal weaving and basket making techniques. The collaboration was with a family of artisans from the Quitirrisí region (Costa Rica) and me as the product

designer and developer of the project. I started by learning about their traditional technique and the material (the Panama Hat palm, Carludovica palmata) they use followed up by helping them improve and standardize their production output. I designed a series of shapes to create a modular lighting systems, the distinct pieces can be arranged to create the lamps. I designed the lamps with the help of the artisans, created the molds for the shapes and did the branding and the packaging design.

Information Graphics Energy Self-Sufficiency Campaign The concept is a campaign to raise awareness about the university goal of reaching energy self-sufficiency by 2030 and to promote sustainable behaviors in the campus. I was part of a team of four designers and my role was to create the info graphics for the walls, even though we all contributed to the concept idea and final outcome. For the graphic style we used Aalto’s University corporate identity guidelines.

The doted line in the campaign logo is a metaphor for future elements or the goal not reached yet; it also communicates the efforts that are needed. The graphics are design for displaying them with vinyl stickers in the campus walls. The big ones represent the energy consumption and self-sufficient percentage and the smaller ones are contextual reminders to reduce consumption. In addition, a website will provide up to date data about the latest developments and energy uses. We won the 1st Prize in the behavioral changes category of Aalto Energy Efficiency Competition 2014-2015. Designers BaunbĂŚk, Eevi Saarikoski and Yunhe Guo. Year 2014

Service Design Museum Arrival Experience The Taidemuseo of Helsinki is under renovation, they are redesigning the space, the brand identity and the museum experience. I was part of a design team that function as consultants commissioned by Design Driven City to help the museum improve the arrival and way finding experience for the museum in Tennispalatsi surroundings. The intended outcomes were an analysis of the current situation and new concept ideas for an attractive, obvious and hassle free journey to the museum. We used user research tools to understand the situation and opportunities. Design ideas were arranged in a matrix according to time line of the costumer and the space they could be implement. We worked as a team to create the design guidelines through and all the stages of the process but one of my focus was on the graphic design of the results.
