FIFA WORLD CUP SOUTH AFRICA 2010 History in the World Cup Nelson Mandela is the most important person in South Africa. Do you know why? If you want to know him, read and put in order this text.

Mandela was Peace Nobel Prize in 1993.

After 1948, he formed part of the resistance movement against the National Party´s aphartheid because he wanted all the races to live in peace and as equals.

After 1990, Nelson Mandela worked to create a democratic and free society and he became president in 1991.

He was the first black president of South Africa.

Nelson Rolihlaha Mandela was born in South Africa on 18 July 1918. He studied at University of Witwatersrand where he obtained his degree in law in 1942.

In 1964, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was in prison till 1990. During those years, he became the symbol of the anti-apartheid movement.
