La ciudad mirada desde el vacío_PLAN LORCA MASTER TESIS

The project consists on four main states: - INITIAL FIELD WORK, where the consequences of the seism happened on the 11th of May 2011 is studied in Lorca until the huge impact that the notice made on the media. - The second state is an URBANISM STUDIED where the creation of a “security axis” arise, it should be a secure and adaptable for the city. - The different occupational solutions are CLASSIFIED for minimize the dynamical intervention of the currently 47 vacant plots. Dividing these plots in 4 groups, two of them tertiary plots and the other two into collective residential plots. - Finally, one of the mention plots above is developed, the residential dividing typology one which is expandable in case of an earthquake happens. The offered action is solved by two different ways, the first of them by the structural efficiency (which suppose an investigation and complexity design solution) and in the other hand a spatial efficiency (under a modular adaptability study of the created space). As a result of these, two potential principles are used; Ant seism and Bioclimatic rules.

Is important to mention the narrow relation between structure and architecture within the project where architecture is totally adaptable to the structure (being designed from the principles and achieving the earthquake regulation) since the space design to the interior furniture.


The structure is designed following guides guaranteeing THE RESISTANCE to the combination of HORIZONTAL STRENGTHS OF THE SEISM within the building. DESIGN + FOUNDATION + DUCTILITY + DEFORMABILITY + FIRE RESISTANCE

Is important to mention the narrow relation between structure and architecture within the project where architecture is totally adaptable to the structure (being designed from the principles and achieving the earthquake regulation) since the space design to the interior furniture.


Because of the pillars absence in the floor plans, I look for the highest free and transparent space allowing the change of use. One way of achieving it is locating the wet areas (bathrooms, kitchen etc.) in the faรงade of the building as they are the only rigid interior elements. The interior partitions propose design permits the compatibility between privacy and natural ventilation (personal condition and sanities with high efficiency) that gives solution as a consequence of the plot position, orientation conditions and space lack on faรงade. The different faรงade possibilities are developed.


ALL THE SPACE HAS THE CAPACITY OF BEING MODULAR AND ADAPTABLE.

This decision joined with the interior scaffolding use permits the review of flexible residential typologies, getting the replace of the traditional interior partitions by furniture elements creating security lintels. The main quality of these houses furniture is de ADAPTABILITY. At the same time they are elements working as interior partitions and joining with the interior scaffoldings permits the difference between spaces and increasing privacy between them.


The building configuration is undertake to take profit of all passive ventilation solutions; sunshades that combines with the ceramic faรงade, patios, solar chimneys and sustainable insulation (made out of seaweed from the area).

Taking into account the nature of the proposal of responding to the catastrophic consequences of an earthquake, movable elements that are design as furniture and are combine with the scaffolding (internal partitions) to offer different spaces adapting to the required conditions, being able to host larger number of people or acting as secure spaces during the seism.



Madrid 2016_Olimpic Pavillion A RCHITECTUAL PROJETS

The exhibition space proposed for the 2016 Madrid Olympic candidacy will study Colon Square as location, but enabling the alteration of its skin and configuration regarding different settlements. Colon square was chosen as subject site due to easy communication with the main landmarks of Madrid, offering also a direct connection with the airport located in the north of the city. Furthermore, the site offers a underground public parking and near accommodation on its surroundings.


The structural proposal enables a complete flexibility to the pavilion, enhance by an open plan design that can adapt to different plot conditions as detached or semi attached surroundings.



Medical Resort Atention (CETAM) A RCHITECTUAL PROJETS

The brief proposed the design of a hospital/hotel in La Palma, Spain. The nature of the project stablish the programme as the main study field, therefore, the public character stablish the connections with its surroundings and context. - ACCES: Due to the different main uses proposed, it was an interesting the challenge to create a circulation that relates and separate the users. Both access will be located at the front elevation that faces the main avenue and the beach but secondary entries will be distributed for more private access. - THE VEGETATION: Nature is used as the buffer with the city - WIND: To take profit of the site, the building shelters from main climate problem using the adjoining masses. - CONTEXT: The residential nature of the area is taken into account locating the more private uses facing this area. Leaving the common areas to the more noisy side of the plot.


The shape of the main volumes are based on the hexagonal. LOCATION: Its proximity to the beach relates to the existing parasol, typical formºº the area, stablishing a visual connection with the context. GROWTH: This form enables a great flexibility of growth, as breaks its facades in multiple sides that stablish different connections for different spaces. Also takes care of the existing nature, as the building turns and embraces the green. SPATIAL VERSATILITY: Multiple faces.

Draft_Madrid 2016_Olimpic Pavillion A RCHITECTUAL PROJETS

The pavilion creates spaces of different nature, external spaces open completely to the square, internal transition, circulation spaces that serves as buffers, in which the pedestrian walks through the structure but out of any shelter, dissolving the boundary of inner and outer spaces. This is based on the structural answer based on the combination of RMD (super slim Soldier) that offers a great range of sizes and accessories that allows total freedom of combination.
