The project in this area was born together with a theoretical reflection. This work represents the synthesis of the route in this School of Architecture and starts from a personal reflection on the conditions of the contemporary architecture, on the role of the architect today and on the condition of human space user. The project involved the entire rethinking of the British concession in Waitanyuan area, in Shanghai. It has redesigned the public land in order to restore life and to order the area along the river. New institutions for the city as a museum of painting and calligraphy, a library, the urban center and a new auditorium for the city have been designed. The auditorium together with schools of dance and music is able to revive the existing Capitol Theatre. Fundamental issue solved was not only the completion of urban voids, but also the ability to reactivate the existing buildings.
