Djanet or Ganat is a commune in the province of Illizi in Algeria. It is an oasis and is the main southeastern city of the Algerian Sahara, located 2300 km from Algiers not far from the Libya, near the Ghat Libyan oasis. Hoggar (Ahaggar from tamacheq, meaning "noble") is the name given to a mountainous massif of western Sahara in southern Algeria. It covers an area of about 540,000 km2, which represents the 1/4 of the total area of the country. Its highest peak, Mount Tahats in the center of Atakor reaches a height of 2918 meters.
East of Tamanrasset, stands the platform Atakor. Landscape astonishing for everybody and exciting Landscape for climbers.

Tamanrasset or (Arabic: ﺕﻡﻥﺭﺍﺱﺕ, Tifinagh: Tamanrasset, also known Tamenghest (Berber) Fort Laperrine during French colonization, is a town in the province of Tamanrasset, which it is the county town , located in the extreme south of Algeria, 1900 km south of Algiers, 450 km in a straight line to the southwest of Djanet and about 400 km north of the border with Mali. The city is particularly known for having been the residence of Charles de Foucauld Pilgrim desert.
