Exchange Standards For Exchange participants
Dear Exchange particpant, This booklet is to explain our exchange standards that should be implemented with you throughout your exchange experience and how it should be implemented.
What is AIESEC Exchange Standards? To ensure delivering a quality leadership development experience , AIESEC has a set of standards to be followed for any internship we provide, we call it 16 standards and satisfaction or SnS . they are grouped in 4 blocks with different responsibilites from Sending and Hosting entities.
Logistics: 1. Visa and Work Premit AIESEC Host entity are responsible to provide you a written format for all the information required to arrange for any documents, visa or work permits that my be required.
2. Arrival Pickup AIESEC Host entity are responsible to pick you up from the airport/ location of pick up from your destination. This need to be agreed upon before realization.
3. Departure Support AIESEC Host entity are responsible to offer in a written format on how to depart from the country/city two weeks before the end of the internship.
Job: 4. Job Description AIESEC Host entity are responsible to make sure the job description in the project matches the job description in the opportunity portal you applied for
5. Duration Global Volunteer: 6-8 weeks Global Entrepneurs: 6-12 weeks Global Talent: 6-78 weeks Some GV and GE programs are longer, confirm with the host entity.
6. Working Hours Global Talent and Global Entrepneur: 35 hours/week Global Volunteer: 25 hours/week
7. First day of work AIESEC Host entity are responsible to give you support in the first day of work by introducing you to the NGO/Company and do expectation setting in person
8. Personal Goal Setting The home entity has provided a space for you for goal setting based on your Leadership Development Assessment result.
Living: 9. Insurance AIESEC Home entity needs to ensure you have a valid insurance policy to cover basic medical costs for the duration of your internship before traveling.
10. Accommodation AIESEC host entity are responsible to provide you an accommodation as stated in the opportunity portal you applied on and to tell you about any fees to be paid to cover the accommodation before traveling.
11. Basic Living Costs AIESEC host entity are responsible to ensures your opportunity specifies if any financial or non-financial compensation would be provided during the internship and the actual conditions.
Experience & Learning 12. Outgoing preparation The home entity must offer an Outgoing Preparation (for leadership development of the EP, including space for AIESEC purpose [AIESEC Way] explanation) before you leave for internship.
13. Expectation Setting The host entity has provided with basic information regarding the country/territory of their internship in a written format including as a minimum information on culture, political situation, safety, living standards, home and host contacts (phone number and email)
14. Incoming Preparation The host entity must offer an Incoming Preparation (for leadership development of EP and follow up on your personal goals set before traveling) once the you arrive to the host entity, and before the internship starts.
15. Development Space with opportunity provider The host entity must offer an Incoming Preparation (for leadership development of EP and follow up on your personal goals set before traveling) once the you arrive to the host entity, and before the internship starts.
16. Debrief with AIESEC Home The home entity must offer a Debriefing (for leadership development of you, including space for checking on personal goals) at the end of the internship.
When you should be delivered this and how? AIESEC Home and  Host entities will be delivering you the standards once you're approved (signed the contract) until you go back to your country, through touch points before , during and after your exchange. Touch points could be ones to ones meetings, conference, seminar or virtual spaces.
