Objective Students understand the difference between the suffixes and prefixes, in addition to its proper use and function in English
Prefixes A prefix is a group of letters that you can add the beginning of a root word to change the meaning of the Word
UN- means not or the
opposite of the rest of the word Dis- also means not Re- means again Pre- means before Mis- wrong or badly Sub- under
Examples
DIS - disagree, discontinue
RE - repeat, replay PRE - prepacked, previous MIS - misfire, misspelled SUB - submarine, subway
Suffixes Suffixes are attached at the end of a word to create a new word or change the function of the word.
-S, -ES: means more than one
OR –ED: shows when something happened -ER, -EST: means more or the most something -FUL OR – LESS: shows there a lot of something or none of something -ING
Examples Boxes, books Singing, talking Taller, teacher Wonderful , helpful
Conclusion After complete of this project we realized that suffixes and prefixes are important because most of the words we know are formed thanks to them having different meanings
