WAR ON WASTE We believe that luxury has risen to new standards and no longer resides in the posession of many expensive goods, but on a few indespensable and customizable products that consider the future of taste, wearable design and most importantly, the future of our world. We battle against any type of waste: time, money and above all the wastes caused by production and consumption. That’s the reason why we created a sustainable bag that provides multiple bags into one. We are committed to bringing sustainable design values to the fashion industry, helping those who wear our products to become not just consumers, but contributors to a new tipe of luxury.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN We believe that a bag should carry all your essentials, combining form with functionality. However, functionalism is not enough; a bag is more than an object, it is a space to be lived, a sort of “mobile home. Starting from the concept of rooms connected together, but separate places in which we experience, share and make relationships, we figured out how our bag should look like.

HOW WE DESIGN Experience and relationships are fundamental to us, that’s why we added an interactive playful dimension to our products. In fact, the modular structure allows the user to become the creator of his own bag, choosing the colors and the parts to put together according to his needs. We designed bags that can be “split up” and shared with whoever you want.

BRINGING BACK MEMORY

Starting from the concept of Memory, Grafton Architects in collaboration with the students and the teachers of the Degrees and Master’s degrees of ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering propose the installation «Memory Box / House of memory»: a meeting place for sharing, talking and celebrating Barcelona. This assembly, located in Passeig de Lluís Companys, includes three spaces: a big room and two attached rooms elaborated with materials such as canvas. The idea of an installation that will contain the experience of the citizens is being considered. C onceiving the city as a house or the house as a city: the domestic world contrasts with the public space.

HOW IT WORKS?

1.

The fibers of pineapple plants are extracted through decortication. The leftover biomass can be used as a natural fertiliser or a biofuel, so nothing is wasted.

2.

The fibres then get degummed and undergo an industrial process to become a non-woven mesh, which forms the base of Pi単atex速.

3.

The rolls of non-woven undergo a process of finishing that gives Pi単atex速 its leather-like appearance, creating a textile that is soft and flexible, yet very durable.

PIÑATEX®

LEATHER AND SYNTHETICS

No additional environmental resources required for raw material.

Heavy use of resources including land, water, food and fuel.

No chemicals. Closed loop production – residual leaf biomass is used as natural fertilizer/biofuel. Non-woven mesh is biodegradable.

Toxic chemicals used in tanning. High waste mass from tanning process. Synthetic materials take many years to degrade, releasing toxins.

OTHER POSSIBILITIES

VegeaÂŽ biomaterial is a bio-based material from vegetal renewable sources, deriving from the grape marcs. This material contains multifunctional components, which have been proved to be just perfect for the creation of eco-sustainable technical fabrics.

Orange FiberÂŽ is a material from citrus juice byproducts. This fiber provides a silk-like cellulose yarn that can blend with other materials. When used in its purest form, the resulting 100% citrus textile features a soft and silky hand-feel, lightweight, and can be opaque or shiny.
