Our planet is changing, so we need to help it change for the better, we are asking for help to do that. So we can use compact fluorescent light bulbs, take care of the water or recycle at home. But here are some good news: everyone and anyone can help to improve our life quality. We have to learn how to protect our planet and we have to start from our homes. Such as using fluorescent light bulbs because they last much longer, they can save energy and in a long term you electricity bill will be reduced. Also in your house you have to take care of the water, maybe you can turn the tap off while you brush your teeth, with this everybody can save up to 5-10 liters of water, so this liters would save enough water for 500 000 homes.
Keeping recycle bins in the kitchen (that cans can be made up of cardboard) may help to stop people from accidentally throwing into the trash an item that could be recycled. Some recyclable items include glass, paper and organics. In addition, another way to save the planet is that you can lower the thermostat by a few degrees in winter. This idea helps the planet because it reduces your electricity bill significantly. You have to consider investing in flannel sheets and a warm comforter for your bed and keeping your apartment cooler when you sleep. In conclusion, we have to protect the planet and the environment. We need to start in our homes and family. We have to be good leaders and help the world. With this a lot of people a lot of people is going to imitate us and we will make a difference.
Protecting Monarch butterlfies ir our duty. They are in danger of extinction and they are importantant for the ecosystem, food chain and pollination. They don´t live too much. Their life has four stages: egg ;larva, when the pupa become jade color; pupa, when their wings are folded in the chrysalis and adult, when thay migrate. They live in South California an Mexico or in the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Grove. Specially in a warm weather because they can´t fly if their body is less than 86 degress. Monarch butterflies live in open fields and meadows. They have many colors as orange, black and whit ein their wings. Both, male and female are similar in appearance, but the female´s veins are thicker. They can also produce 4 generations during 1 summer. Some problems have put them in danger as pollution, that causes deforestation. People cut trees and they don´t know that all the butterflies need to live in the trees. They cut the trees to make houses, roads, railroads, etc. That´s why there is a great reduction of their population. They migrate because in the north and central part of North America it is too cold, and as I said before, they can´t fly in cold weather. Also because their food don not grow in a cold weather. As I have mentioned , monarch butterflies are an important species in our environment and if we don´t protect them, they would disappear. That´s why we can build refuges for them. Also we can make campaigns. So we have to start acting!
Water used to be free. In fact, it still is; at least in nations blessed with plentiful clean tap water, but, that doesn´t stop them from spending over $100 billion on bottled water per year. Who got the idea to sell us something that we can get for free? And how did it get so popular? This story shows us how manufactured demand pushes what we don´t need and destroys what we need most.
It all started in the 70´s, when soda´s sales began to fall… Famous companies as Pepsi´s Aquafina and Nestle´s PureLife were “forced” to put their water form public water sources. In the middle 80´s, people start eating healthier, and industries broke! What could they do? They had a “great” idea, why not selling bottled water? So they did it. And guess what: these water had less quality, wasn´t even good tasting and costed thousands of dollars more!
Bottled water industries pollute the water because they don´t want people to drink tap water. And, did you know how many years does a plastic bottle takes to decompose? Well, it takes to something like‌ a thousand years! And that´s not all, sadly, the 80% of the plastic goes directly to the incineration or, simply, to the trash; the remaining 20% is used to the making of lessquality things.
