Dear Estrella Mountain Friends and Colleagues, On behalf of everyone here at your CTL we hope you had a fun-filled and relaxing winter break! With the start of a new year comes new opportunities. We encourage you to prepare for those opportunities by delving into the workshops and trainings offered by your CTL. As you’ll see in the pages ahead, we are proud to offer a mix of brand new workshops as well as employee favorites. Whether you are a faculty or staff member, you will find interesting offerings to help you engage with your fellow employees and get you prepared for the opportunities that lie ahead. We encourage you to take the time to find workshops that speak to you and to register for them now, so you can get them on your calendar before they fill up. In this training you will be shown the process of setup, operation and creation of your own custom lightboard video that can be immediately posted for online viewing. THU Essential of Managing Performance 7 Presenter(s): Alicia Martindale *8:00 AM - 5:00 PM *Plaza Gallery The Essentials of Managing Performance course allows supervisors to dive into the practice of managing performance throughout the employment life cycle. In this course, you will become familiar with fundamental activities that will support supervisors in setting expectations, coaching, providing feedback, and conducting yearly performance evaluations. Participants will share best practices and be introduced to resources that will support them throughout the performance management cycle. Prereq: Completion of the online Essentials of Managing Performance Pre-work is required prior to enrolling in this course. Some policies may enhance or hinder the probability of a student being successful in the course. This luncheon will foster discussion about different policies chosen by faculty and the impact this has on student engagement and success. Family's desire to improve their financial futures and this workshop has the answer. Two personal financial literacy models form the foundation to receiving a favorable economic outcome. The Actionable Financial Behavioral Change Model (AFBCM), detects and corrects behavioral actions that are detrimental to financial literacy. The results are used to enhance the Actionable Financial Literacy Decision Model (AFLDM), a design that helps organizations, their members, and individuals to maximize their full financial potential. Anticipating the opening of the large space in downtown Phoenix in 2020, this workshop is an opportunity to learn the tools, pedagogies, and best practices for using the space so students develop technical and applicable workplace skills. Attendees will identify and practice instructional strategies that encourage problem-solving, innovative thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset through hands-on design challenges emphasizing applied outcomes of design thinking that span across multiple disciplines.
