4 PROFILE

Plants, parks, and planning are my jam. I want to help make spaces that people want to be in and create empathy for the landscape they inhabit. Whether they're having a good time with friends, exercising, or simply taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of the park, it's simply magical when people clearly enjoy the spaces they occupy.

ages 3-5, we made a simple form that would allow a child to crawl under, use as a rocker, and build fortresses. We dubbed them 'Crawly Cubbies'. The imagination of children is boundless. When brought to the preschool, the children turned them into Santa's sleigh, mountains, chairs, and slides, among others things. Just wide enough for two to sit side by side, who knows what adventures they'll go on together next!

neighbourhood of Vancouver? What resulted is a harmonious collection of spaces, shaped by hexagons, with plants and walls strategically placed to create a sense of mystery in a calm and enclosed area. A separated respite from a busy intersection for all to enjoy.

Planting design

Families climb, draw, and build together with a public washroom nearby. Friends meet up for a bite to eat or coffee. Students and staff bound for UBC wait at a covered bus stop.
