Literature

Authors like conductors Whose words dance as they want A symphony of words Strikes like a silent chant Chapter after chapter Emotion through the eye Memory lasts forever As pages never die Like veiled escape ropes thrown Like a wide open door Forget what drowns you down Hear the orchestrator Flip flip through the pages Feel the inspiration Of a soul with no age Full illumination BY T ASIO

Devour the pages

Fly through the words Such as the most graceful of birds Devour the pages Pursuing the path of all sages Immerse in a different universe Beware, it can be diverse From utopian to perverse Dispel any type of limit The spectacle of a race of dreams Glorious and wild like the fiercest of streams Convoluted schemes, reaching the extremes Following a fluke, they split! Hands matted in a silky mane At a dreadful speed, with no pain Lulled by the pace of the saddle Towards infinity you travel A burst of feelings mixed together. A storm of ideas. The thunderbolt of love. Face the fantastic flavor of this frightening fever And guzzle a flow of knowledge, like trying on a velvet glove BY CHARLOTTE

The Folly of Mankind

There is no greater pride Than the one we all feel At having thrown away our lives And proving that we need not kneel To the demands of others Who are staring at us with knives Can we call ourselves sober? If we are alone not to drink There is a folly in every person That feeds from their imagination And to be free one must do as they please In order to liberate their mind From the forever closing Handcuffs of time That have for sole purpose To ensure we live BY MATHIEU

Today, he came to me again -

Today, he came to me again, And, once more I would try in vain, To escape his ferocious claws That kept me captive, against the Laws. However, I could not resist, In fact, I would rather desist. Tired of sleeping, For a hundred years, without observing one single person, but them. Today, he came to me again, And though they were not the same,

For me they were only one They, who had that name, That made me shiver and froze every bone The questions fled and fed my incapacity Doubtful as one can be, Will I ever escape, Or am I staying here, with me for Eternity -Today, he came to me again, For I did not wish, I talked to them Though my words would not attain -And neither would he listen to These men, that I knew Without being acquainted to Wore the same clothes As I did. Today he came to me again, Not the same as yesterday, He would come and run away But he was held captive by a chain When I glanced at the wall Or mirrors as I should call In the reflective partition I would only see me, At last, as I chose To lay my head Against the bed And let it go, I will not fight I would rather die. Poetry

It’s passionate and accurate It’s hard but sophisticated It’s delicate and elaborated Don’t you dare try to handle it You start to write and get on with it It’s fun sometimes admit it The verse or prose you choose transmit A hint of what you think. It’s a way to feel out loud Never mind your strangest thoughts You then feel very proud Of yourself and inner thoughts. I hope you find a way to like this poem If not, don’t dare to make an omen BY KIM

No one in sight - My breath stopping after every soundThat never ending Slow burn wait The Restless summer air I forget that it's just me - While it gets Dark. I'm Standing there alone as always Not good at keeping my eyes closed Building hopes just like a tower Crumbling everyday I wait Peacefully – as always For Eternity BY MARGAUX

The world seemed too cruel But my soul was no fool And in the darkness, a glow of light My heart will forever ignite The whisper of an ethereal love Quivered in the void of A humdrum existence. More than a simple vow of trust A promise that it would never rust Only laughter, joy and harmony Only foolishness, chills and eternity Countless stories will be told For the gleam will nevermore be cold, Loneliness will not take hold. An ever present ataraxy Unwavering anesthesia Of the harshness of the world That continued to twirl. Just look and you will see Because it was him Because it was me. BY ELEA AND L UCIE

Old Glory

A long time ago, I had a best friend He was the descendant of Inequality Yet, he was raised by me Although I chained him to a tree Inequality was Equality’s evil twin Heartless and with no regrets, Inequality had taken over my heart Poisoning my mind, breaking my self-love apart But my one and only dream was that One day, Equality would become my best friend Old Abe abolished his enemy and Introduced me to a new friend, Peace Journey Today, famous as I am People want me, People need me, People dream me Foreign men, children and madams All struggling to be free And still to this day People are learning to live together To share the land of the free As neighbors, friends, and family BY MATILDA, AGATHE AND JULIANE

My last duet with a fly The fly loudly buzzed on the wallThere was a knock on the door, Time had come for death after all But was it for the gentle fly Or my own self, I was not sure. The insect preys close to the door. It Disappears - I cannot see. I shall die, but I am in awe, Because in my closing moment Emptiness was vast as could be. Too many people soon to feed, Yet too little folks to surround? The fly, my final kin indeed, Witnesses my own deception, Vain and useless but so profound. BY CHRISTEL

You are younger than I am broken I dance these feelings like they're spoken Was I just a lonely girl to fly? Tonight, do you want to live or die? We are never done with killing time These roads where the houses don’t change - I’m Stuck in the past for Eternity. BY V ALENTINE

The city that never sleeps

I looked around marveled At the beautiful lights above All the buildings sparkled I was already in love! Giant were the buildings From the skyscrapers To the taxi drivers In their huge yellow cars glowing. They were driving fast But I kept smiling at the stars, It looked nothing like my past I hoped it would heal my scars. The jetlag surprised me, But so did this country. What a fantastic journey! It will forever be in my memory. I ate burgers every day, I have to admit I put on some weight. Time square was amazing I believe I was staring. First time in an American subway I wouldn’t lie, it was great. Different I may say But we could also have a debate! The lifestyle was so strange! I liked it anyway This city was such a change I had beautiful holidays. BY ESTELLE

The Autumn Tree Your other half fades away And disappears into the twilight. He had already found his way Into your heart filled with delight. You were awoken by the rising sun, Which gently told you your other half was gone. A tear falls from your empty body, Just like a leaf from the Autumn Tree. BY AMY

Dashes

Feel the wind through your hair Feel the darkness in the air Hidden feelings Lost loves Whispered secrets Sad words. I hear the cry of the moon at night. All just a search for light. Tears in the rain: One drop two drops more pain Then the wind blowing softly With its delicate touch Feelings like dashes All blown away In the calm dark night As they disappear No more pain No more fear Just peace I am free BY ASALIS

one friday night in the middle of the game they initiated a fight and blew up in a flame set back on the terrace while sipping their wine they were only careless because everything felt fine Dancing under the light the chaos arrives leaving the room with red ink and in one blink one hundred and thirty lives disappeared on one Friday night BY JULIETTE & CLÉMENCE

Solitude

Grey horizon, sunless sky, frail light through my pane. Silent, deathlike, naked trees, arms stretched out in vain. What is this season? Confinement and seclusion. It’s like a No Man’s Land weathered by confusion. Abandoned by my feathered friend, The ones who left long ago. Disillusion that never ends, My alienation seems to grow. Fading memories of laughter, of joy, of bliss, Nostalgia reminiscing of a stolen kiss, Escape I must from this painful isolation, Fast forward to this present time of delusion. An open door, a breath of air I am outside, I sense no fear. Glimpse of a bud, birth of a flower. Released from my ivory tower. BY ALIX

Isolation Impressions

When the only sound you hear is the sound of your despair When inside you can hear a silence you cannot bear When what you do in public does not go as expected That moment you realize you have been too isolated The character is isolated, -not alienated When alone, separated, depressed or disconnected Delivered to himself, he feels rejected The only one who rejects him is himself But he does not know it Many characters, isolated from the world Have a dream they cannot live and a life that is absurd An endless routine with wishes that are not heard By the Vicious Circle of Life, going on ‘til there are no more words No more words for the author to save his character Thinking about his future while the present is still blurred Delivered to himself again, -everyone holding their breath He tries to save what is left and awaits for his death Alone like the moonlight Who keeps shining in the Dark But still brave and gleaming Like a selfless Spark All you feel is guilt, O isolated nation Whereas your loneliness leads to your destruction You are so selfless, sacrificing yourself Your psychotic tendencies leading your Life to Death BY AYMIE

Your hands are tired As you sew the eyes Of this little angel doll You’re giving your life To finish her eyes Tonight. You don’t complain Even if they drain Your energy for those eyes Cause they’re all you can do As they said to you “Focus on the eyes” A life for a smile Of an innocent child Who will never see a sparkle in your eyes. BY CÉLYMÈNE

Loneliness is an obscure place, Where, as I weep, the world chuckles And when love seeks, the bliss crumbles. Loneliness is an empty place, Where the Great Blue echoes Robinson’s portrait And where four walls mirror a desolated sight. Loneliness is a crowded place, Where up the stream I crawl And the soundless screams hide the inner brawl. Loneliness is a vicious place, Where the darkness shadows the gentle gleam of glow And the flirty night strangles the breathing light. I lost myself but stayed alive, I want to leave, you hold me tight. BY EMMA AND S UZANNE

The Stars And Their Dust

The sun fell asleep once again And all I could feel was more pain The streets seemed much darker that night But the distant Stars were so bright I stared at the gloomy sky for hours Alone as ever, lying on the ground Surrounded by nothing but bellflowers I felt so lonely without You around As I listened to the silence I perceived You in the distance The cold breeze crossed the empty town And there was no longer a sound Even if I am not with You tonight I remember the time spent together Now I think I have to tell You good night Because I know nothing lasts Forever BY JULIE

The happy family

A happy family lives in a pretty house with a pretty garden in a pretty neighbourhood one day The happy daddy came home happy daddy was not happy Due to greedy daddy greedy daddy fired happy daddy Heartlessly Where is greedy daddy’s humanity? “It’s due to the currency” apparently Now the happy family have no more money and is no more happy -but isn’t the happy familyAn allegory? BY LUCAS

When they saw how big the chimneys were they silently realized What was going to occur Once they would all be inside The sky was red and the smell hellish The procession walked for an everlasting moment This was your destiny when you were Jewish And that your brothers thought you were different BY FELIX
