Prologue: In this book you’re going to get a little taste of what kind of person I am. Hopefully this will help you get to know me more. In this book it indicates my likes and dislikes. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Everyone is unique in their own ways on how they view things in life. I will also be telling you a bit more about my life experiences and about my personal life. The things I experience is how I became the person I am today. A lot of past experience builds you to become someone new. In this book you will see what kind of person I was then and the person I am now. It is interesting how people could change in a matter of time. There are so many stages to life: childhood age, young age, mid age, and old age. Childhood age life was always just about eating, being with parents, playing, going to school, getting good marks, and buying things of your choice. Childhood age was always a fun and happy life growing up. Childhood age is always the fastest stage and most times it flies by like its nothing or you don’t even notice. When you were a child you didn’t have to worry much about any personal problems. Young age is more aggressive, adventurous, taking risk, balancing, bad/good habits, and taking responsibility. During this stage kids start to deal with personal problems and issues of themselves or others. Kids start to go out and be adventurous to learn more about things or people and that’s when taking risk comes in. Balancing is a challenge for the kids at this stage, because they have to be healthy and try to balance out their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. Young teens start to try become more responsible and seek for jobs. Students try to get part time jobs to support them or their family’s needs. Mid age is about getting married, having kids, buying a car, buying a house, saving for the future, taking care of family, and taking care of kids. During this stage adults end up: falling in love with someone, getting married, and having kids. This is when you have to take on more responsibility by buying your own car and house. This is the time where you’re going to realize that money doesn’t just fall off trees and you might want to start saving money. At this time your elders might be getting sick or need assistance. As an adult and parent, you must take full responsibility and take care of your kids, making sure they have their education. Old age is more about worrying about your health, doctors, medicine, and death. The older you get the more you should really worry about your health. The older we get the more that our body starts to weaken. So, this is a good time to be checking up on your health. It’s a good time to check up your doctors, take some vitamins to be strong, and pick up the right medicine. Sometimes this stage could be scary, you may start to think about death and worry about how life would be afterwards.

Color Your World Pink, I love the color pink. Pink to me is the meaning of love or happiness. I always feel so pink, because it is such a warm loving color aside from red. Growing up I was always a nice and happy child. I did have my blue days, blue days where I was sad, but I was always strong. Being strong, I learned how to be pink, to be happy no matter what. My blue days were cold and sad, but later on I always overcome it and that is something I am proud of. I feel like a pink flower that blooms, its so beautiful and it just warms your heart. It amazes you and I think that amazed feeling is how I feel about me being strong. I get that “proud” feeling towards myself. To me blue is like for when someone is sad, but at the same time blue can mean calm. I guess when people are sad, they can’t stay sad forever. Eventually things will calm down, blue had different meanings. Everything all leads to happiness, without pain there is no joy. You will always end up being pink, like me.

10

Room Sweet Room A perfect room to me is a soft but not too hard mattress, I love the feeling of it under my body from a long day of school. I love the feeling of comforters, the feeling of my legs rubbing against it. I always have my bed full of pillows, I feel like the more pillows the more safe and comfort I feel. I love a cold room, it makes me feel like I am on a vacation sleeping at a nice cozy hotel. When I get out of bed, I love the feeling of my feet touching the soft carpet. I love a big flat screen tv, that I can hook up my phone to the tv and stream online movies. I have a cart full of makeup, that area is a place where I can doll myself up and make myself feel even more pretty. I love looking into that full body mirror, that way I can see myself and view the person I am. I literally sit there in front of it and put on makeup for hours, that’s the place where I add beauty so I guess I can call myself an artist. I love long curtains on top of my sliding door, my room always feels so cozy and relaxing. I just love a cozy room where I feel like I am in a hotel. I love small fake plants to decorate my room.

The Ultimate All-Purpose Excuse Good morning Mrs. Griffin, I believe I am tardy for class. My excuse is that I was in the library finishing up a project that is due soon for another class. Please excuse me and if I am not excused, with all due respect I am terribly sorry and I hope you forgive me one day. I know that this excuse isn’t as valid, because I should’ve thought about doing this project for another class ahead of time instead of procrastinating. If I didn’t procrastinate, I would’ve been early for your class. In fact, that project is for another class and I shouldn’t be taking up your class time to be doing someone’s else’s assignments. So please excuse me and I hope you understand. If I missed anything while I was gone, you don’t have to waste time for me to catch up, I have the responsibility to come into class to makeup time that I missed. Whatever work or extra work is given I understand, there is no reason, but I have to suffer the consequences. Please forgive me thought, because I am still young and I am still making mistakes, but this is the mistake that I won’t make again. Thank you so much Mrs. Griffin and have a nice day!

15

Telling Tales When I was in my elementary years going into my middle school years, me and my cousin Alan who is one year younger than me would bully our little cousin Kellie, who is three to four years younger than us. Every time me and my cousin Alan would play hide and go seek, we would always cheat and made Kellie “it.” She never knew we cheated, she just always thought it would land on her for some reason. We always made her “it” because we knew she was slow and couldn’t catch us. There was times where we even left her laying in the hammock in the jungle and we would say the taotaomonas would get her. We would always laugh, because she was small and wasn’t able to get down from the hammock, because her legs were short at the time dangling from the hammock unable to reach the ground. It was always hilarious to us as kids and as we all got older, we would retell the mean stories we did to her, we would always laugh it off. Now that we are older me and my cousin Alan would feel bad about how we tortured her, we still all get along just fine and we don’t do horrible pranks like we did as children.

17

Personal Symbol Recently my grandfather passed away, he got cremated and they put some of his ashes in this fish hook necklace, almost like a sinahi. It was given to me and to me it is a gift. Others would think that having a dead body’s ashes in your house is scary, but I think having my grandpa’s ashes is like a blessing to me. Having those ashes around makes me feel like we literally have a piece of him. Having his ashes makes me feel that he is literally still around. I think its cute, because if you really think about it, its almost like a good luck charm. Every time my dad goes fishing he puts the necklace with my grandpa’s ashes inside around his neck and I guess it makes my dad feel secure. When my dad goes fishing and brings the necklace with him its almost as if my grandpa is going fishing with my dad too. This item is kind of something that tells my past. Of course losing someone is very hard, but its how you deal with it. Losing my grandpa, it was very hard for me. I guess in a way my grandpa’s passing made me become stronger, I learned how to deal with my emotions during the hard times.

A Mysterious Place When I was little my parents would always be me and my sister to my grandpa's house. Around his house there is jungle everywhere. On the left side of his house the jungle goes in far and at the end there is a very big ditch. Growing up I was always curious what was down there, as a kid: me, my sister, and our first cousins would always joke around about our Chamorro ancestors being around. We would always scare each other “ ouu the taotaomona is going to get you”. We would always go on adventures in the jungle finding weird things. We actually found items that we from war. We have this concrete ground near the ditch and my grandpa would tell us that soldiers at World War Two build that cement area for the tanks to go in the ditch. It is so crazy, because the ditch that soldiers hid in is very close to my grandpa’s house. There’s always big pipes from the war that are still down in the ditch up till’ this day. I always wondered what was really down in the ditch, but I am afraid to go down there and investigate because I don’t know what animals are down there that might get on me.

A Day in the Life One evening, she was having dinner with her: uncle, auntie, and little cousin. Her uncle and auntie were discussing how they wanted to go off island over the summer. Summer was so close, we were in May. So, her uncle and auntie decided to be nice and offer if she’d like to come with them on a trip. She was so excited, because it was her dream to leave off island and to see diverse things/ people. So, she agreed to go and she asked her parents later on that night. Her parents were undecided, she was so sad that her mom and dad had to think about it. But then later, she understood why they had to think about it, because if she goes, she is not going to be off island with her parents. She would be going off island with her other family members. So, her parents decided to give it a chance and agree to her going off island. She was so excited when her parents told her yes. Long story short, she got her passport ready. By the time summer came around she was so excited to leave off island. She wondered where they were going. Her uncle and auntie called her up and told her that they will be going to Washington, California, and Nevada. Oh boy, she was so excited, because remember it is her first time going. She went on the trip, she visited Washington. She got to see the zoo and saw different animals. She saw a moose, different types of lambs and sheep. She got the chance to see a grizzly bear. She was so happy at that moment, because we don’t have animals on Guam like they did in Washington. After Washington, she went to California. In California her most favorite part of the trip was going to Disneyland, her BIGGEST dream since she was a little girl. It was every kid’s dream to go to Disneyland. She was so happy that she was literally in tears, it was her dream to be there. It was exciting and fun to her. Her last place to go to was Nevada, what she did in Nevada was go to Las Vegas, in Las Vegas she went to circus circus. She had the chance to go walk the strip, she loved the different hotels, because each hotel had their own theme. After that long trip, she went home as a happy child. Everything was memorable for her.

Flashback If I could go back in time it would be middle school. In middle school I joined my very first and last sport, basketball. I would go back to this day, because that sport made me lose A LOT of weight. The coach was always hard on us and it was always a challenge. Because of how hard she pushed me, I felt better in my own body. Now, I gained more weight like every year. I think the older you get the more chunky you get. I believe it when older people say that it is hard to lose weight the older you get, because as I got older its so hard to lose weight. Because I joined this sport, I don’t get sore muscles after a intense workout. There is nothing I would change about this day or this time of the year, because it was very fun and enjoyable for me. This really helped me of what kind of body I wanted.

As Time Goes Bye-Bye I would like to travel anywhere in this world, off this island with the love of my life. It would be at the Bahamas. I feel like the Bahamas is so relaxing and peaceful. I always wanted to try and sleep in those cabins on the reef. I can just imagine having a nice massage with a glass of wine with my future husband. It would be a good vacation to say bye to all the stress and toxic people. A place to relax and forget about all the yesterdays. This would be a place to get away from work and all the drama. This would be a place to just breathe and exhale all the stress. This would be a place mostly for adults to relax or stay at. If I had kids I would probably go to the cities of the states and let my kids enjoy activities. This would help let the kids have good memories having fun and enjoying their life. This would be good to enjoy family time and bond more.

Metamorphosis I use to be this shy little girl, but now I'm a little more loud. It use to be so hard for me to socialize, but now I am a little bit more open. I use to be so skinny, but now I'm thick. I use to let small problems get to me, but now small and even big problems don't. I use to care about what others say, and now I don't. I use to regret so much, but growing up I learned not to. I learned not to because of the past, I am who I am today. I am proud!

Who I look up to Demi Lovato is inspiring to me, because she came along way and has become so successful. She was an actress for quite awhile on Disney Channel. She decided to take on her singing career more and as she grew older and dealt with a lot, she became so strong and she is such an independent woman. She works hard and barely relies on anyone. She was vocal about her father. Her father was very abusive towards her and her mother. She didn’t want to see him after her parents divorced. Demi was going through a lot of depression before she went into rehab at the age of 18. She suffered from eating disorder and self harm. She was also bullied during her teenage years. She wrote her thoughts into magazines and her songs to help her with her depression and disorders. She really went out and spoke to the public about everything she went through. She was very open minded and public about her personal life. Demi supports gay marriage and equality. She also went out to support them and support awareness of mental health.

Remember the Child My friends from my elementary school always told me that I was a shy little girl. I wouldn't talk to any of my friends. I would only talk to my teachers. I was always a good student though. The thing about my parents admire the most about me is that I always do things without being told. I was never a lazy child, I was always a good helper to my parents and family. I only have one sibling and she is older than me. I was always known to be too mature for my age, because I had that influence from my sister. Growing up, I was always learning how to do new things. I did things that kids wouldn’t normally do. I would always learn how to cook different things. I started cooking on a pot and pan at a early age. I was always a caring child. I would always wake up early in the morning and cook for my family. I would cook them breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When I was a kid, I was girly but at the same time I would still do boy duties. I was never afraid to get down on get dirty. I always loved following my dad everywhere. I would always help him fix his cars and we would practice shooting arrows together. The reason being is that my dad is deer hunter. I don’t any brothers, so my dad doesn’t get a chance to have a bond with a son. But even though I’m a girl, I still bonded with my father.

One Medium Suitcase They're five things I would put in my suitcase. I would bring comfortable shoes, under garments, clothes, makeup, and hygiene products. I would bring comfortable shoes, because I want to feel comfortable and I don't want my feet to be hurting. I would want to bring undergarments to keep myself clean as well as clothes. Its always good to have a fresh pair of clothes. I would bring makeup to look good. I would bring hygiene products to make myself of course smell good.

The Perfect Present The perfect present to me is patience. In life we all need patience. Time heals wounds of everything we go through in life, patience is key. It is important to have patience, because in life we all go through things. In life we all suffer and struggle, it is all a matter of how you deal with it. Not only it is how you deal with it, but it is also on how patient you are with it. Things will tend to fade away in time. Sometimes we have to be really patient to get the best of things. If you have faith that something good for you is out there, you are going to have to be patient. Rushing things doesn’t help anyone. When you slowly do things at a decent time, it's more calming and more stress relieving. I feel like patience puts everyone’s mind at ease. Being patient is also a healthy thing, because we need to avoid frustration. Patience allows us to suspend judgments long enough and informs of decisions. Patience also gives us a happy and peaceful life.

Memorable Event This wasn't an event, because I've never been to a big public event. However I did go to one of the most famous places to visit. I went to the space needle in Seattle, Washington. I love that place, because you could literally see everything from up there. That is a place I wouldn’t mind visiting again. It is amazing! You could even register your name there as a visitor. When I registered my name you could see how many people visit that place, and it is amazing because millions of people do. I would definitely go back up there at night time. I went up there at daylight, but imagine how the view would look when it is dark. Another place I went to was the Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam is one of the most famous places to visit in Nevada. The Hoover Dam is a place where most movies film at or get a little glimpse of it. I went there and the dam is so huge. The dam is also deep, looking down the bridge is scary. I also love that place, because it is so amazing how that dam is man made, even the lake. It is so crazy how men created something like that. During the construction back then, some men had died from slipping off and falling from higher ground. These two places are places I’d never forget, it is somewhere memorable for me and it was a good experience.

Always say Never 1. I wouldn’t want to get all four of my wisdoms get pulled out again. 2. I wouldn’t want to have to talk to the police again. 3. I wouldn’t want to take my stress out by doing stupid things. I wouldn’t want to get all four of my wisdoms pulled out again, because I went through that situation. I am not scared of the dentist but the pain afterwards from the surgery was very frustrating. The blood was so thick and I always had to change my gauze from the inside of my mouth to help stop the blood clot. The holes from my wisdoms would bleed a lot and it was soak up the gauze. Having two gauzes in your mouth was very harsh, it was so hard for me to talk and it was so hard for me to eat. It was so hilarious though because it was so hard for me to open up my jaw, so I would like stuff rice in my mouth the best I could. You also have to make sure you sterilize your gums really good to avoid infections. I wouldn’t want to have to talk to the police again, because one time I got in trouble and now I don’t care, I am traumatized. I don’t want to get in trouble for things that I would regret at the end. I wouldn’t want to disappoint my parents in any way or disrespect them. Everything is all fun and games until someone gets hurt or in trouble. I wouldn’t want to do stupid things just to take out my stress. Later I learned that doing stupid things to take out my stress doesn’t help. I learned that time and patience is what helps heals wounds. Sometimes the best way to get over it is just to deal with it and let it naturally fade away. Doing stupid things just makes YOU look stupid. People shouldn’t use excuses of their personal life to mess up really bad.

Are you hungry? My favorite meal would be the "Family Food Jamaican Tray" from Jamaican Grill. In the Family Food Jamaican Tray there is red rice, Jamaican bean rice, side salad, baked bbq sauce chicken, and baked bbq ribs. I love this meal, because it makes your lick your lips and fingers. That's how good it is! Everytime I go to the restaurant I always see everyone enjoying their food. You will always see the customers doing the same thing we are doing: licking our lips and our fingers. Eating barbecue is messy, so everyone has sauce all over them.

Annual Report Last year I was going through a bad breakup. I let it tear me apart. I didn't cry everyday, but it made me have that "YOLO" mindset. I did crazy rebellious things that I am not proud of. I don’t regret anything though. In life I am happy, because I learned so much. I can be independent. I can be better on my own and I am. Because of all the petty things that I've been through or get mistreated, I know what I deserve, but the people that did me dirty I don't have to hate them, I choose not to. A year later, I see myself being stronger and more independent with or without a significant other. I see myself in the U.S Customs or a dental hygienist. I see a future!

Ekphrasis

One day I wanted to go to the mall to look at some clothes. So, I got in my car and drove there. As soon as I arrived, I saw some food trucks outside and entertainment. Before I went inside, I went to one of the food trucks and got me a banana smoothie and I was watching a performer sing Perfect by Ed Sheeran. After I finished my smoothie and the performer was finished, I walked inside the main entrance of the mall. I was walking and I saw a couple shops I wanted to check out. I went into this one shop and I didn’t really like their clothes. I stepped outside and I was walking through the halls. Another shop caught my eye, but I received a text message. I continued to walk through the hall while I was texting. I stopped for a second and my heart dropped. The floor looked like it was cracked in half and I was about to fall through. I was on this wooden bridge. People around me started to laugh, because they could tell I am a tourist. The people that live around the area know about the 3D painting on the ground. So obviously they know I wasn’t from there. I was so embarrassed, because I was so scared and didn’t realize it was just painting. That was the highlight of my day.

Lessons I learned After It Was too Late! 1. Procrastinating 2. Doing stupid things to take out my stress I use to procrastinate in with my school work really bad. I still procrastinate up to now, but back then it was really bad. Who else doesn’t procrastinate, everyone does. It is either because you are lazy or because you got caught up with your schedule. It all started off in the sixth grade, in my reading class. My reading teacher was Mrs. Farfan. She always gave projects like every single day and she never gave us enough to do our project. Most of her projects always involved buying poster boards, and my mom ended up being concern about it. That’s is my reason why I never really liked to do her projects, because it was like she expected us students to keep buying poster boards and ink is expensive as well. So one day I came into her class without my project and she embarrassed me in front of the class. She yelled at me and called my mom. My mom got upset with me through the phone and at home. Since then my mom would always get on my butt about school. Before I got in trouble she never got on my butt about school work, because she knew I would always get in done. She knew I was independent, but after my teacher made that phone call. I was in trouble and monitored. It all started off with my first serious heartbreak which I look back now and laugh about it. Like what was I thinking I’m going to marry this guy? After that relationship I really laugh at myself. Like I’m so young, after that breakup, all the relationships afterwards were puppy love to me. Never again I’m going to try and be serious with someone in high school. Anyways after that breakup, I was a mess. I did so many things that could get me in trouble all because I was stressed out. At the time I didn’t think of it until I got into big trouble. I’m the type of person where I do things to get that adrenaline rush. Getting an adrenaline rush is like a cure to me. But after I got in trouble I realized that I should get rid of my stress in healthier ways than to do things that could get me in trouble. I should’ve realized that long time ago, but only when you get in trouble that’s when people realize it.

The Door When I walk out the door I want it to be summer. When I walk out the door I want to be proud as a graduate. When I walk out that door I want to be happy that I am finished with high school. When I walk out the door I want to be happy that I don't have to worry about any deadlines for awhile. When I walk out the door I don't want it to be the first day of school. When I walk out the door I don't want it to be a Monday. When I walk out the door I don't want to have to worry about when grades are due. When I walk out the door I don't want to worry about deadlines.

Advice to the Young Dear Daughter or Son, I write this letter to you because I want to give you some advice. I want you to enjoy your life and do things I never got the chance to do. I want you to do things that I was scared to do or didn't have the guts to do. I want you to be able to express how you feel emotionally and physically. I want you to know that I would never judge you. You are free to express yourself, remember that. I want you to always feel free to tell me anything, I want you comfortable with your parents. Sometimes your parents are your best friends and we want you to let out whatever it is you need to let out. I want you to always be kind to others NO MATTER WHAT! I want you to take responsibility for whatever actions you make in life. I want you to always try your best, make effort, and follow your dreams!

Sincerely, your mother.

Future's--Fantasy Fact Mariesa is a successful person, but all she does is nothing. She gets paid for just living her life. She has eight different cars and four different house. She has seven kids with the love of her life since high school. She has a butler and maid that works for her full time. Since they’re working full time, they have to live with her too. Mariesa’s house has twelve bedrooms and six bathrooms. Her house has a pool, playground, and a barbeque area outside. Her house also has a inside gym full of different equipment and up to date machines. She has a master bedroom for her and her husband, seven bedrooms for each of her kids. She has two rooms, one for her butler and the other for her maid. She has one room known as the “game room” for her kids to relax in and play games in. The other bedroom is a silent room, the room is for the kids or for her and her husband to do their work. It’s a place where they go to for silence or in order to finish their assignments. Ten years from now I see myself just starting to actually get my life together. I would be in US Customs. This is my dream job, but I know this isn’t a fantasy to me, because this is a job I am aiming for or determined. I would probably have one decent car and a decent house that has two bedrooms and two bathrooms the max. I don’t see myself having a husband or lots of kids yet, because I don’t want anything too serious yet. I would just want to live life with a significant other. I would want to enjoy life and travel to many places without worrying about children. I wouldn’t want to have a maid or butler because I wouldn’t want to be spoiled or lazy.
