An Architectural Study of Sound graphite on paper 2016
This project stemmed from taking an everyday object, in my case a pair of headphones, and analyzing its key function, and creating a physical space out of that. This is an exploration of how sound travels through a pair of headphones and into the ear pieces. In this design people become soundwaves experiencing different types of resonations in each area due to the change in size and material of each compartment. These images are hand drawings of a section, plan and an unrolled section of the design.

上鶴間６−２９−９ is my parent’s residence in Japan. With our lot surrounded by buildings on all sides, there was a challenge in coming up with a plan that let in a lot of natural light to the kitchen, dining and living rooms while maintaining our privacy. After going through numerous contractors to come up with a plan to fit our family’s needs, I took it upon myself to create my own plan for the house. In the end my plan was taken to the contractors, and further decisions were made as a collaborative work between myself and the planners at Sumitomo Realty.
