Assisi Development Foundation Institutional Grant Guidelines
The Institutional Grant of Assisi Development Foundation is a modest funding facility that aims to build a “Partnership of Service and Resource Sharing” with various charitable institutions, missionary groups, civil society organizations and peoples’ organization in the country. To pursue this aim, ADF assists projects developed by local people, NGOs and other civil society and church organizations with the purpose of improving people’s quality of life in their own communities and sharing their successes with others. In providing financial assistance, ADF observes the following guidelines for funding: I.
Project Criteria 1. Areas of Focus Agriculture and Rural Development Education, Children and Youth Development Livelihood Opportunities Health and Medicines Environmental Conservation 2. Conditions / Criteria for Project Selection ADF believes in supporting those projects that are capable of eventually becoming financially self-sustainable. Additionally, it is expected that projects supported by ADF will encompass the following: Community Participation Self-reliance enhancement (long-term viability/mobilization of local human, technological and financial resources) Innovation and replicability Environmental sustainability Openness and partnership with other NGOs, civil society organizations, local church and faith-based organizations, government, business and other sectors 3. Area of Focus Due to limited financial resources, ADF presently focuses on the following areas that have been identified with high poverty-incidence in the country: Urban poor communities in Metro Manila and other key cities in Philippines; ADF Institutional Grant Guideline FY2011 -1-
Rural communities in Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga del Norte, Maguindanao, Apayao, Surigao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Northern, Samar, Masbate, Abra, Misamis Occidental Samar, Bicol Region, Quezon Province, and other areas that may also be considered depending on the need.
4. Applicant Organizations An Applicant organization is required to have either a legal status or to be registered with a responsible public entity. It is also required to be transparent about its activities and financial condition. 6.
Grant Period In principle, ADF supports one to three year projects. Extension of the grant period beyond three years can be considered after a thorough study made by the Advisory Committee. However, project proponents who are approved for its multi-year proposal is required to submit annually a project proposal (plan) of the preceding year concerned with budget for an annual approval of ADF Institutional Grant Advisory Committee.
II.
Monitoring and Reporting An ADF personnel or representative may monitor projects that have received grants. All grantees are required to submit interim and final reports. These reports should contain a narrative account of the accomplishments made through the use of the grant funds, with respect to the project’s initial goals. A financial statement should also be attached to both reports and receipts or evidence of disbursement is required for those items applicable for the final reports.
III.
Deadline for Application Interested parties can apply to anytime of the year. A letter of inquiry or call is highly appreciated prior to the submission of project proposals.
