SEPTEMBER 2011
VOLUME 2 ISSUE 3 “He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor” Proverbs 22:9
Welcome to our September Issue! It gives us great pleasure in showcasing the wonderful work which the WOW global family has and continues to diligently undertake in their sphere of influence. There’s power in networking, there’s power in agreement. Bible says where two or three are gathered in His Name, God is present! He knits our hearts and purposes together to being effective witnesses for Him! Once again when we reflect on this past quarter of 2011, so many catastrophic events have dominated headlines and gripped worldwide attention. Increasingly sudden disaster seems to strike randomly, with no Country or Nation granted amnesty or immunity against any of it. Just like the rains that fall on the just and unjust, disaster comes to all. We track Satellite images of hurricanes and storms from its formation to when it makes landfall. We’ve witnessed thousands and thousands of lost lives, displaced people, people driven to leave all and run for shelter, for safety and refuge.
Images of starving children dying by the hundreds in the Horn of Africa and poverty stricken regions haunt us and consistently remind us of the urgency and dire need out there. There’s been little or no time to prepare, to regroup, to limiting losses, to taking action, to putting up barrier boards and fortifying levees. The walls have broken, the breaches have given way and the raging pent up waters have ravaged everything in its path! The vivid live feed images of the Japan Tsunami are still fresh on our minds. The world has reflected and commemorated the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. Wars and all kinds of terrors and uprisings, economic melt-downs continue to plague the globe.
These surely are the signs of the age that we can no longer dismiss or diminish as sporadic incidents; these are the birth pangs that the Lord has warned of. And as many a mother will testify, birth pangs are the first stages of labour and intensify closer to delivery time – worse is to come – we must brace and prepare – Watch and Pray as the Lord has instructed. The Good News is that we’re also tracking the Supernatural Landfall of Gods Spirit and Anointing over Continent upon Continent! It’s igniting and setting the World Ablaze for Christ, one person at a time!

Stories told in pictures. Picture 1 shows a woman drawing water from an unprotected source. Need: To dig a shallow well and put concrete and a cover on top. Picture 2: shows a man deep in bible study but with an empty stomach. He is not fasting either but has no food. Picture 3: Shows orphans returning from begging maize cobs from farmers. Need: Buy them food and clothing. School fees for their future are also important. Buy them at least a small goat or piglet so that they can be self reliant.
. Picture 4: showing two orphans with empty plate. They had a small lunch which was not sufficient. On the same spot a dog is expecting to receive something from the empty plate as well. Story of Two very Unlucky Girls In EHIC church Raiwind, There is a family which is so poor and candidate of mercy because some years ago this family was living happily but within two /three years, the father of Noreen and Robina was died with a disease. Of TB After father‟s death, their elder brother 24 year old was killed by Robbers because he was a driver of salesman of Pepsi agency. When the robbers were snatching money from them, he suddenly said,” I have recognized you “. They shoot him and ran away. It was an unbearable loss for family because he was an only dependent of his family. After these two tragedies, the mother of Noreen and Robina eloped with her lover by leaving her two innocent daughters and one little son alone. For your kind information she is living in a rented house and looking after her younger brother and sister. She is desirous to join WOW project to survive. Honduras Mission Trip Report The end of July 2011 marked our Wow Missionary Teams trip to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The team included Marilyn Orton (Founder of WOW); Alison Roach (President of WOW), her sons Jacob and Joshua; Becky Oswald; Isaac Egewbole (President of Caribbean Life Missions) and David Geovanny Rivera Valle (ground host).
From left to right: Marilyn Orton; Becky Oswald; David Rivera; Isaac Egewbole; Joshua Roach, Allison Roach, Jacob Roach The Teams first assignment was LaCasita, a shelter for around 80 girls from 11-15 in ages. This government shelter when first built was in good condition, but when the government was taken over by corrupt leadership, the living conditions of LaCasita rapidly deteriorated as funding was taken away, leaving the facility in a deplorable condition. It was revealed that during the night, Drug Lords would break and scale the high walled barbed wire fences, and kidnap “their girls” away at night. A tour of the facility highlighted the poor living conditions with 26 bunk beds in each crammed room. Some had no mattresses at all and the girls slept on the boards. A small box under the beds held their belongings. Outside the girls did their laundry on designated days at 8 homemade concrete wash stations. Their clothes flung over lines with no pins and much of it lying in dirt on the ground. The kitchen area seemed to be devoid of anything remotely resembling a kitchen except for a few pots and pans. Some of these girls had babies on their hips – 7 in total. They were children with babies. Most of the girls were very interested in the team and wanted to be touched and loved. The team mingled with the girls and spoke with them on the subject of “Forgiveness”.

Later that night the Team spoke the same message at the Family Life Church. The team were given guest front row seats and enjoyed the beautifully clad dancers and music. Although in another language the team was aware that the people were worshipping God. The team were also very appreciative of David‟s ingenious driving skills, especially as there are no speed limit signs and where three lanes of traffic become four at all times and apparently it is not unusual to meet someone in a wheelchair, going against those four lanes of traffic! (Talk about a death wish?!) Big thanks to David again for keeping our WOW Team safe amidst a few shrieks they let out along the way!

Back at LaCasita the next morning, Marilyn and Allison had gift bags for every girl. Allison had so lovingly hand decorated each bag differently so the girls could recognize theirs, but they all contained the same things. She had also done 7 special pink ones for the babies. The team took great gifts for the girls. Joshua and Jacob helped distribute them, giving each child a Salvation bracelet, explaining the meaning behind each colored bead as they put them together themselves. The day before, the children had asked for cookies, so the Team bought 10 dozen cookies for them, much to their delight! Marilyn had copies of the Prayer of Jabez in Spanish and spoke to them about it. Each child received a Bible too!

The Team had a wonderful opportunity to host a two hour radio broadcast (9-11pm) this was a secular radio station hosted by a local Pastor, and broadcast over all Honduras. Marilyn did a great job of presenting WOW and sharing the Word. People called in during the broadcast, asking for prayer and responding to Marilyn and Allisonâ€&#x;s sharing. Each person who called in was given a Bible. The last caller thanked the ladies and said she had gotten her identity back that night because of what she heard. Marilyn was amazing; it was a great interview and wonderful exposure for Women of Worth. That night the team also learnt that David their Host was also a Professional soccer player and coached a team of underprivileged children, mostly single mom children. A meeting was scheduled to meet on the soccer field!
Marilyn Orton on Air! The next morning Marilyn and Allison conducted a presentation of WOW at the Family Life Church. The ladies were joined by Nicole Bravo and her friend. Marilyn had befriended Nicole on Face book and found that she lived in San Pedro and that she also worked with the children at LaCasita! How wonderful Divine Appointments and arrangements are! Jacob was invited to play the guitar for the hour of Praise and Worship. That night David drove the Team to Rio Lindo church a two hour drive, up in the mountains, the last part on very rocky roads. The people had been in church since 5pm and it had gone past 10pm. Marilyn had half an hour in which to do her presentation and she did it!

Sunday morning the team was driven for over an hour to Puerto Cortes which David informed is the Centre of the Earth right on the ocean! The people were very poor but full of spirit and enjoyed worship. Being surrounded by mountains the team very aptly spoke on “Speak to your Mountain!” Marilyn and Allison did a wonderful presentation of WOW. Allison, Jacob and Josh presented a large number of gifts to the children and played games. Allison‟s friends had made the pillow case dresses of all sizes and colours for the girls, (50) or more.

Church was in the inner City that night and Isaac the speaker did a good job. The people were wonderful and many received prayer. The team had no idea what their requests were but aware that God knew exactly what they needed! The people were black, very receptive and warm. Allison passed out gifts to the kids at the close of the service. The next morning the Team visited a shelter for boys in Bettany, a contrast to LaCasita. Some of these boys are left and taken by their parents and some had no parents. The facility was clean and efficiently maintained. The boys were well disciplined, well dressed, attentive and helpful. Their ages ranged from (8-18). A blind boy Denny played a little keyboard and sang for the team. The Director spoke interestingly to the team but voiced her biggest concern for the boys as she‟s been given 6 months to live. Marilyn prayed for her and assured her of the WOW corporate global prayer also. Allison distributed gift bags for each boy, who loved the contents! Jacob explained the Salvation bracelets to them and the team put them on their arms. Everyone got a bible! Marilyn distributed copies of Jabez in Spanish, told them the story of Jabez. Josh and Jacob played Frisbee with them, did sack races and played ball in the yard.

Monday found the team with the soccer team that their radio host coached. Two teams comprised of children aged (9-13) and (6-8). WOW bought 2 dozen soccer balls and the kids were thrilled when they saw them!! Marilyn told them the story of Jabez, gave them copies and everyone got a new bible!
Soccer Teams with their New Soccer Balls! The Team expressed great sadness at the living conditions in this area. They have rusted tin fronts instead of high concrete walls and iron fencing surrounding most homes and their dwellings had nothing but an open lean to pieces of rusted tin. Cart drawn donkeys carried all kinds of ware, by people hopeful of pedaling their goods. The team expressed much thanks to David for taking them to the places that were in dire need for Ministry. The team rounded their trip with a day off to shop at the flea market and Dinner at Nicole Bravo‟s family‟s home. Great fellowship was had by all and Marilyn and Allison had handed over a suitcase full of gifts for Nicole to distribute at LaCasita and an orphanage that she works with.

It was a trip full of Ministry – A beautiful Country full of hurting people. Everyone should and must have some exposure to the needs of others in other countries. It certainly would put things into perspective about what we have and the appreciation we must have for it. “We brightened the day for a lot of kids, spread the purpose of Women of Worth everywhere we went and hopefully left some love along our way”, (Marilyn Orton)
Special thanks and acknowledgment: The Pillow case Dresses were made by the people of Warrenton Christian Church. The entire church took on the project. 1. WOW International will be holding National Conferences worldwide in 2012, and you are invited to be a key national leader in building the foundation. 2. Begin by printing "The WOW Connection" at www.wowintl.net and distributing it to as many Pastors as you can in the next six months. Let them know they will need to register to become a coordinator on our site (www.wowintl.net) If you do this you will build a strong foundation for the National 2012 Conference in your country, and you will become a national leader in your country. 3. You and those, whom you register as official WOW Chapters, will receive information that will help your women to receive FREE training in sewing and making crafts that will help them to support their families, educate their children, and tithe to your church. And yes, it really is all FREE. Here is your opportunity to help Pastors to bring more people into their church, empower their women to do the work of the ministry under their leadership, and give their women a chance for a better life through micro enterprise training. And, in the process, your influence and stature as a National Leader will grow. We at WOW want all of this for you, your fellow Pastors, your women and your country. And remember, WOW never charges for anything. We are on your team, praying for your success, for the glory of God! Our motivation truly is to assist YOU to become a successful Coordinator or Area Representative in your Country. Every Blessing and much love,
Marilyn wow@wowintl.net www.wowintl.net
