NEWCANZO| TOWN SQUARE | ITALY BACHELOR THESIS The main task of diploma project was design new master plan for little town in Italy - Canzo with San Giovanni XXIII square, where would appear several new objects and functions, like: hotel, restaurants, hostel and conference halls. Also behind the sport area was designed new recreation zone with public activities. On the new amphitheater, which use natural slope and difference with ground level, would be organized concerts, festivals, meeting of local people and tourists, sport games. San Giovanni XXIII square is located near to the train station and the main square in Canzo. This area has extremely profitable localization for new functions. This square have to become the new recreation center not only for local citizens, but also for tourists and people who just pass through the city. The two new buildings on town square have different functions; they are for different class of society. Family with children, students, pupils from school, young couples, old people, disable as well would feel there comfortable and safe. Everyone can use roofing system of both object. Bars, cafes, cocktail-bar and snack bars on every floors and green terraces on the roof could attract during the day, as at evening and night. Problem with huge parking for cars and buses solved into the project by the proposal of underground parking, with 106 parking spaces, for guests.

SCHOOL OF TOMORROW | TURKEY GAZIANTEP | MASTER THESIS

The subject of the project is designing a primary school with surrounding area located in the city Gaziantep in Turkey. The idea was to create a building’s unique in its form and expression that will give the individuality to the place. Such a character of the building is its continuation in the proposed land use adjacent land, together forming a coherent aesthetically assumption. Tetris and Lego pieces, which children use for playing, inspires the shape of school. Simple architecture form makes unique connection with the natural lines of slope and paths of the garden near the school. The shape of school is engraved into the natural slope of terrain. The sport hall is divided from the school building in order to create an amphitheater between the two buildings. Such designing solution creates a safe space for children to play. It’s been designed a school that combined classical Ideological assumptions of the project school elements with modern learning facilities taking into account the existing realities for the new ECO Project developed by the Municipality of Gaziantep, Turkey. The school is dedicated to children between the ages of 6 to 10 and will accommodate 500 pupils. Active 5 elevation solar collectors -> (warming and hot water for school)

INFORMATION POINT | RUSSIA NATIONAL PARK | WORKSHOP Project location is in the National park in the North region of Russian Federation. This park is 800 km far from Moscow almost the same from St. Petersburg. Natural untouched forest, clean air, transparent water within lakes, rivers and streams attract tourists and hunters to spend here couple of weeks during summer and winter as well. Information point’s task is to be place for rest, to get new information about nature and to save tourists from snow and rain on their journey among the touristic pedestrian path or boat trip. From this information point exist connection to the island, which is located in the middle of the river, by wooden bridge. The main idea for this object is a labyrinth, which is made by little difference between square wooden platforms, creating floor of structure. From one of the platforms we can get to the bridge, another platform is a kind of outdoor terrace on the riverfront. Entrance to the object is from two sides. Construction system for project is very simple and made in the traditional way of North region of Russian Federation.

THECRACOW GREEN ISLAND | POLAND / VISTULA RIVER | WORKSHOP The green island on Vistula River is the conceptual project for the city of Cracow in Poland. Bad ecological situation in the region make necessary to solve several problems of the river. The green island has recreational, cleansing, bubbling, regenerational and cultural functions. The location of the project suggests also to make scene for concerts and events during the summer and winter. Recreational activities, like cafe, green amphitheater and ice rink during the winter, including special educational activities by regenerational aquariums with fishes make the island open for everyone from children to old people. The green island produce energy by the water stream power and also make water more livable for fishes, animals, birds, insects and plants of the Vistula River. Mother Island with the dots island make the whole object functional, helpful for the nature, useful for people and effective for the city of Cracow.

RISING TIDES | VANCOUVER | CANADA WORKING WITH THE WATERLINE | WORKSHOP

Superhydrophobia.city. Was decided to develop an architectural construct that is resilient to the threats of rising tides. Their proposition is two fold – firstly there is a series of bio-domes that replaces the ‘lost lagoon’ and keeps growing as the sea levels rise if the human race is unable to eliminate the drastic effects of global warming. These bio-domes begin as R+D laboratories and ‘awareness centres’ for Vancouverites who slowly and inevitably have to adapt to losing their recreational shoreline. As the situation worsens, the second phase of this proposal introduces floral-like structures that become ‘islands of desire’ which shall house new recreational amenities for Vancouverites. This highly programmed plateaus also become ‘light wells’ for the underwater recreational bio-domes. This typology also creates a new topological terrain beneath the surface of the water that becomes an ‘aquatic-farm’ for breeding fish and aqua-sports. 0m

DOMODOSSOLA | PIEMONTE | ITALY RESIDENTIAL CITY EDGE FACING NATURE

Project area is located in the North part of Italy, in the small city called Domodossola. The project site is located direct on the railway station on the other side of not used train rails. The main idea for urban concept was to use nature and greenery as dominant. How that was made in New York, proposition was to use partly old train rails and create big green park in this area. Abandoned railway stores and building can be used how new museum with new public functions and programs. Along this park there are pedestrian paths, where could spend time by children, as well old, disabled people and young and adult people. New district of multi-family housing is placed which functions how independent object in the same time also how connecting element with all city, new part, bridge and adapted industrial zone. This is completed with underground parking lot, ground parking spaces, restaurants, bars, small shops, little libraries, offices and studios on ground floor. What is unique in this project, that every building has access to the semipublic garden of about 500-600 sqm.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL PAVILION WISLICA | POLAND | UNIVERSITY PROJECT The main idea for new archaeological pavilion is the division in 3 different levels the whole new investment. Each level is independent, but at the same time, everything is one object with different functions. Entrance designed from backyard, where appear little square for waiting and enjoying time with friends or groups of people. This makes effect of interior, continuation of the hall, of thepavilion, just to invite people inside to visit this monument. In the first part of new investment appear main hall, ticket office, information point for the tourists, cloakroom for visitors and bookshop with souvenirs as well and place for sitting and waiting. After making tickets excursion starts with watching movie about Wislica, history of this place, Main Church and foundations of Saint Nicholas Church. The shape of cinema allows in comfortable position watch movie from every seat, from every height and in the same time this room using differentiation of levels and has opportunity directly to get to the underground level. On the underground level there is main exposition. From this part of pavilion, there is an access to the foundation of Gothic Minor Basilica of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, emergency exit, to the underground parking lot, and main part of investment - foundation of Saint Nicholas church. Openings in the roof (3 big skylight) make the foundation have illumination from the top. This effect allows the decrease losing of energy and to illuminate underground floor.

This is the philosophy which underpins the concept of the eco skyscraper which is designed to breath in poisoned city air and breath out fresh air. The structure combines the two ideas of having a PROBLEM living space which also functions as large-scale city air purifier. The cleaning process is simple. The skyscraper network utilizes the existing city metro system to form a conjoined grid system of pipes that penetrates the whole metropolis. This means that the interconnected structure not only cleans air in the local vicinity but that of the whole metropolis. The new structure will become the lungs of the city constantly filtering and cleansing the air. The skyscraper structures themselves are made up of living units which at the same time serve as air cleaning units. Each of these units is able to slowly rise and fall thanks to the helium gas stored in the upper part of the unit and it is this helium which also maintains the structural stability of the building. At the bottom of the unit there isTHEan area for waFUTUR E WITH ECO - S CYS CR APER ter, waste, heating systems and an energy collector.GLOBAL CARBON EMISSION SCHEME

WE CLEAN AIR AND GO HIGHER AND HIGHER The spheres are for different purposes and will therefore have different dimensions, depending on their function. The whole system is connected in two places with the existing city. The most important part of the system is 20m wide and it is here that contaminated air from the metro system and drainage system is collected. The air purification system is designed to produce biologically active air for humans, animals and plants in the city. The second part of the "Get plugged in" skyscraper is connected, allowing people to travel freely to these work and living units. Access to the elevator is from the streets of the city as well as the metro stations to provide a more efficient transport system between the existing city and the new ground structures. This third type of unit will be 15 m wide and from these units people will have access to individual residential spheres by using capsules powered by cables between the ground units.

FILTER This type of unit is 40-50 meters above ground level which will clean polluted air. This type of unit will also be 15 m wide and is a system of progressive purification which firstly cleans air through a carbon ozone filter, and then by using electrodes, an electrostatic filter and a catalytic converter. Finally the air is treated using biological filtration and a plasma filter, which produces pure oxygen, known as dead air, to which is safe for both plants and animals.

LIVING UNIT The working and living spaces float over the city and can be place in practically any location and because of this flexibility they will not restrict light or create shade for existing residents. The "Get plugged in" skyscraper’s has the potential to expand and develop like a tree in nature and is able to increase in size both upwards and outwards. The system as a whole acts as the lungs of the city and even in its shape resembles the shape of the tree. In the future, this solution will be deployed at major subway stations and at the same time solve the problems of polluted air, increasing urbanization and lack of places for people to live and work.

As a result of industrial development and transport, 50% of people in the world today live in towns and cities. According to predictions, in 2025 63 % of the world’s population will live in cities, and in 2050 this will jump to 75 %. Cities are centers of science, new technologies, and it is here where the state’s financial resources and intelligentsia accumlate and grow. As direct result of these factors the world’s metropolises have grown and become denser. As cities expand it is taking longer and longer to get to places of work, schools, and places of entertainment. In some parts of Moscow for example, it can take up to four or five hours to travel across the capital as the city limits are dozens of kilometers apart. The "Get plugged in" structure is the solution to this problem.

WHY DO WE USE SUBWAY GRID? The most developed cities in the world already have an extensive subway grid. This has a hugely positive effect on the city, because underground transport does not rely on the terrestrial parts ground of the city. People can move easily and freely without delays and so parts of town where metro stations are located become highly significant.

Transport hubs, buildings of particular importance for the functioning of the city center and also human habitation are created and as a consequence, more and more pollution is created. The main idea for the "Get plugged in" skyscraper is to clean the air in cities. In the metro tunnels equipment will be installed to collect polluted air which will also send this impure air to the air filter systems which float over the city. The tubes will draw air directly over the main transport hubs, and will resemble in appearance a water drainage system and will fit in aesthetically with the existing surroundings. This metro based solution 42 is suitable for cities with tall buildings. For cities with no metro system such a Krakow for example, collection and accumulation system will be integrated into the existing sewer and rainwater drainage system.

MEMORIAL | COMPETITION WARSAW | POLAND | GROUP PROJECT The conception of the project is based on an interpretation of division and unity. Memorial wall becomes an integrative part of the monument. It sets out the division of the monument into two parts, the first representing the Polish nation and the second one corresponding to the Jewish people. The Jewish part designed below the floor level, symbolizes the people imprisoned in the Warsaw Ghetto. Another aspect that has been included in the project is to create images. Fun space of the square and the images that we see between the walls. Monument interacts with elements of the square and its buildings. Each of the “images” has an individual symbolism and meaning, which also refers to three words presented on the memorial wall. Thee three words and the wall accrual translucent material is a symbol of Jewish hope, courage and the Polish union of these two nations. Three words, which appear on the memorial wall (“FAITH”, “MEMORY” and “FREEDOM”), present the idea of the project.
