1 what Regarding the project itself, we believe that the University turns out to be the nest where the great ideas are born and shared. Due to this fact, our goal was to implement the concept of LEARNING BY EXPERIENCING. We want the students to play the game of participating into the construction of their habitat, and that’s the reason why we integrated the garden into a subject of the same University as a chance for them to design specific parts of it, and most important of all, BUILT it themselves. Let’s say it: KNOCK ON WOOD.

lightning DESIGN CONTEST BCN Racons Públics Arquitectura Garbaix submitted a design proposal in an Architecture Competition in Barcelona based on the Christmas Lightning of one of the most famous squares in town; Plaça Reial.
3 what The daytime proposal was based on the hidden stories that happen around the square. In every building that contained an interesting person or story inside, there was a coloured rope falling from the top of it to the Gaudi’s lamppost in the midle of the square. There, all the ropes found one another and each of them had a poster with the information. That way, if you go to the lamppost you can ďŹ nd all the hidden stories, and ďŹ nd where they are comming from.
3 what The nighttime proposal was based on the past of the square. This square has not always been a square. One hundred years ago it was a garden made by Gaudí and before of that, it was a convent. On this proposal you can find 3 layers of lights that create the history of the place and let you imagine how the people used to live in it. The layers are On in different moments one from the others and you can find a poster in the street with the information of each layer.
